View Full Version : << Forum RULES >>

In exchange for enjoying this forum for free and the freedom you get here, all we ask, beyond what's in the rules, is that you TAG YOUR THREADS, to help other people find our forum. Thank you.

Also, if you report a duplicate thread, you must include both links.

Posting Rules

1) No threats or harassment toward any member or person. This includes a thread started for the purpose of singling out an individual member in a manner that's negative in any way, or negative toward the member's family ("call out thread") in any part of the forum except The Mosh Pit. This includes the thread title or OP. In other words, no criticism of a member in a thread title or OP. Insulting someone's family is considered a personal attack. No threats, overt or implied. No posting of anything that would draw the attention of law enforcement.

2) No divulging of any members personal information unless this person is in the public domain (ie: in the news or a public figure/celebrity) or has made said information public here or elsewhere. A link may be required and is best included. Posting all or part of a PM is prohibited as well as summarizing one. PMs are considered private and may not be discussed in public other than by an administrator.

No racial slurs, bigoted remarks, or personal attacks on members of the forum. Members are reminded we aren't politically correct, but bigotry in general is malicious and malicious conduct is beneath the dignity of responsible adults and is not allowed.

4)Profanity is NOT allowed in THREAD TITLES. If a word must be used, then most of it has to be bleeped with *stars*. No excessive vulgarity, profanity. No misogynist remarks/insults toward female members. Excessive use of offensive language is a violation, so don't abuse your free speech. This type of behavior will earn an infraction.

5) No SPAM posts including links to blogs, personal websites, podcasts, personal twitter feeds, personal FaceBook accounts or other message board or chat websites. NO LINKS in signatures whatsoever, UNLESS you have specific and prior permission from me. No making of threads copied from your blog. Using this forum to promote your blog is a ban-worthy offense. This privilege is subject to termination at any time, without notice.. Please, no overly large signatures. Use your discretion, but keep them within reason and common sense. Space sucking siggies are distracting.

6) No posting illegal and/or pornographic material or links to porn of any sort, or anything that otherwise is in violation to the forum Terms of Service. No nudity other than breasts or buttocks (but not in an avatar). No images of genitalia of any sort whatsoever. Absolutely NO penis images of any sort. This includes all types of images including cartoons and "dickhead" memes. This rule is strictly enforced -no exceptions- because some people view the site at work. No overly sexualized (at the discretion of staff to determine) avatars. No posting of videos, gifs, or images of any kind portraying animal cruelty. No posting of aborted fetuses. No promoting White Supremacy, KKK, or Hitler. To be clear, posting forbidden material includes re-posting it within a quote.

7) When posting articles from other sources, post a link to the article. Copyrighted material MUST have a valid link and name the source as well. Ex, if NYT, you must include New York Times as your source. Fair Use Law must be respected when posting copyrighted material; limit content to a paragraph or two. For more about Fair Use Law, see here: Fair Use Law: Everything You Need to Know (https://www.upcounsel.com/fair-use-law)

If you post a political type email sent to you, you must state it's from an email - in lieu of a link. Since those emails are typically dramatic and make previously unknown or unusual claims, they must be posted in the "Conspiracies Theories, Fake News, False Flags, political gossip" forum.

8) General discussion of forum rules, moderation, and moderators is fine in public, but unwarranted personal attacks on mods is inappropriate and subject to infraction at staff's discretion. Anything not covered in the rules can and will be modded as we see fit as needed.

9) Excessive trolling and flamebaiting is prohibited. Thread drift is allowed. Derailing a thread is not.

10) Changing a member's quote is prohibited. Changing a member's name to insult them can earn an infraction.

11) If YOU quote someone's insult or attack upon you, YOU LOSE your right to complain about it. You may report it, and I will moderate the insult based on my (Trinnity) discretion on a case by case basis. If someone flames you and you respond in kind, YOU are as much at fault as they.

12) The rules are subject to change at any time without notice.

13) No "professional trolls". Any troll who comes here to deliberately make a scene will be intentionally humiliated and banned, put in post moderation, shadowbanned, or blocked. Promoting (as a core personal belief, or praising in an excessive way, also including advertising, ) hate or "other" groups including but not limited to: Nazism/Hitler, KKK, White Supremacist, White Nationalist, and white separatist groups, Aryan Nation, Westboro BC, Operation Rescue, NBPP, BLM, ANTIFA, etc. is prohibited. We consider it also a form of trolling/spamming.

14) No signatures that are offensive to other members, including ignore lists.

15) Snark and mild insults are fine, but if it becomes excessive (pattern of harassment) and a distraction to the forum it's unacceptable and a Moderator may issue a general thread warning or whatever action is deemed necessary.

16) PERSONAL ATTACKS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Telling someone "fuck you", "shut the fuck up" "fuck off" are examples of personal attacks. If in doubt, don't post it. Personal attacks are forbidden forum wide, and this includes in reps. For clarity, let it be known that calling someone a liar or saying their post it a lie IS allowed and not considered a personal attack. "Fuck you" and "STFU" are expressly forbidden in any form with the sole exception of forum included emojis.

17) Members should stay on topic, in general, and post threads in appropriate forums. Mods might post a request to get back on topic if a thread gets derailed and members should comply. Threads may be moved if they need to be in another forum or merged if they're duplicates of other threads.

18) Members can and should report posts/threads if they're breaking the rules. Moderators may not always notice problems and may not react in such cases. In many cases, you will receive a response from one of us so you know we saw your report.

19) Members should feel free to post their views freely in an environment of minimal interaction from the mod team, however members are encouraged to consider their statements. We are promoting CIVIL political discussion and remember that the thoughts and statements that you express are a direct reflection of you.

20) The mods cannot read the entire site. DO NOT complain that we didn't sanction someone else for something they wrote when you attacked them back. If we don't get a report and we didn't see it, then we can't address it.

21) DO NOT report mild insult and snark. Nuisance reporting will do no good and can result in an infraction or ban.

22) Threads which encompass religion and science are primarily religion threads. Such threads will be posted in The Humanities. No exceptions. Keep God/religion out of the Science threads and no interjection from atheists or science wonks in the Humanities threads on God/religion. Such incursions will likely earn a thread ban and/or warning or infraction.

Members are expected to read and fully understand these rules, and review them for changes on a reasonably regular basis, at their convenience.

Common sense and decency apply, so please be civil and hold a customary level of decorum in your interactions here. If you're a racist, Marxist, fascist, revolutionary or counter-revolutionary, left leaning political activist or agitator, coup plotter, Party operative, terrorist of any kind, supremacist of any race, a religious fanatic, criminal, pervert, troll, data miner, or spammer, you are not welcome here. If you're "woke", LEAVE. This forum supports the US Constitution and redress of grievances through the legal framework provided by the Founding Documents. Civil conduct is required. We do not tolerate threats or calls for violence or law-breaking.

While these rules are not all inclusive, the Administrators of this forum will do our best to act or react accordingly in response to specific situations. Feel free to PM any of us for any help you might need. We want to take good care of you as a member and we genuinely appreciate you choosing to spend some of your valuable time here.

Please help us help you.

Members are reminded copy/paste of entire articles or lengthy portions is unlikely to be read, and an abuse of the author's work.

Fair Use Law requires a modest portion plus a valid link. Few websites enforce length, but here a link is an absolute must. Posting lengthy text is inappropriate and we'll have to crack down on it if people don't voluntarily check themselves to not abuse these protocols when crafting OPs or posts.

Please don't make us have to get nit-picky about this. Do the right thing; reasonable length and a valid link.

As of noon today, Effective Immediately:

This will no longer be allowed as a stand alone OP

A youtube (video)
A link

You must have some text to explain or describe the topic.

Second issue: posting whole articles is a violation of fair use law and long articles I can tell you; most people won't read them or will only skim the first paragraph. Only post the FIRST 2-3 paragraphs. Beyond that is not allowed.

Third issue: A straight copy and paste is NOT allowed.

Instead, when you copy/paste, use paste as plain text instead. On your mouse, it's a right click drop down list, on most browsers. Use it. Give only one link -> the source/citation (url) of the article.

I prefer not to infract people, so these threads will be closed OR moved to a file in the mod room. I can PM them back to you if requested so you can re-post with corrections.

Please click thanks so I know who's seen this.

Youtubes can be used as an OP in

The Pub
The Mosh
Sights and Sounds

It's to my understanding from seeing some real time examples, that mobile apps and most browsers don't have "paste as plain text" and hidden spam links are impossible to avoid, so the prohibition on multiple links in an articles will no longer be enforced. I only ask that for the sake of Fair Use Law you don't post more than half the article.

You guys know the rules. No warnings, no infractions, you're on the honor system with regard to Fair Use Law. Do the best you can.

Please click thanks.

All forum members are notified to review rule 3. It has been modified due an issue of abuse of free speech.
