A majority of Londoners feel health, housing and crime levels have got worse in the past year but they do not want to leave, according to a poll.

A YouGov survey commissioned by the Mile End Institute at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) asked people about life and public services.

The polling was carried out as part of the institute's aim to investigate what Londoners think about key issues.

Researchers said some of the answers were "striking".

More than 1,110 people in London were interviewed for the poll, between 12 and 19 February, with the following findings:

I think life in all these big liberal cities is going downhill rapidly. We used to love going to London 30 years ago now we won't go near it and same for Paris. It seems urban life is only still fairly decent in Eastern Europe because they are keeping all that third world trash out.

Eastern Europe and Russia will be the last refuge of western civilization and white people. Watch and learn.

We have contracts in London but we sub them out as it's too expensive to send our own guys there, hotels and travelling across London makes it unviable.

.
I haven't really been to London since I stopped living there in '98. It was getting too foreign then (though admittedly I lived in Chelsea and those kind of neighbours were either wealthy or extremely wealthy depending on the street).

The last I went was 2007. Never again!

A bit of a shame since I was born there.

The last time I was in London i accompanied my wife to a TWD convention, we stayed in a hotel in Hammersmith home of the immigrants of the whole world.

I'm sorry to hear it. MrMike told me Amsterdam was similar, but I thought it was great. I'd like to visit London in the next few years, but Europe is getting weird and a little scary. The further west I went people were less friendly. In Prague and Budapest people were friendly and courteous....and glad to see tourists. (jobs, money)
