British teenagers believe their generation will have a worse life (https://www.itv.com/news/topic/mental-health) than their parents, according to a new poll.
Money, jobs and climate change were named among the concerns of 1,001 teenagers aged 14 to 17 who were questioned by YouGov for children’s charity Barnardo’s.
When asked to imagine their lives at the age of 30 years, 55% of teenagers said they believed their lives would be worse than the previous generation while another 34% thought the next generation of children’s lives would not be any better.
Some 9% said they felt “hopeless” about their future

Definitely! When they are in their 30s they won't be able to afford a pot to piss in. :(

no doubt. the same for young folks here in the states .. who i believe will pay a huge price for the foolishness we are experiencing today. climate change will be the very least of their problems.

If that does happen it will reverse the trend that has been set since the industrial revolution of human existence being more rewarding.

The one thing that can change this is loss of freedom.

The waves of immigration coming to our countries are putting the cost of rental and owning your own home out of reach of today's young, it's called demand. The job sector too, the employers are employing the vulnerable, the less educated, they depend on the immigrants.

Our governments have each failed us, the voters can't even see how they are being manipulated. Huge political change must come.

Our son will have an edge on his contemporaries. We ensured that he has a marketable degree with no debt. He's not starting out with a huge stack of student loan debt. That will make it easier for him to afford housing which is something for which he will need to take on some debt.

we are also doing this to ourselves. for example: real estate agents are doing everything in their power to drive up home prices. and guess what? that makes it difficult for first time buyers. if you are selling it is great to make huge profits. friends of ours put their condo on the market a couple of weeks ago. it sold in a single day at an incredible price. rentals are going up on a monthly basis. almost like a currency now.
