For residential property or land, stamp duty is payable if the price is £250,000 or more.

We will buy a house under that amount... oop north the houses are much cheaper. ;)

you agree an estate agent fee before the sale usually.

I'll have to read up on the first year rates.

A friend had to sell this beaut...when it eclipsed $150,000+ a year in NYS land taxes!!!! CLOSING COSTS were an incredible $900K!!!! His Dad and Mum passed it down to him.....

What a place...on Long Island Sound...it's own jetty. Caught my first fish as a little kid over there.

BTW: there are portions of Westchester County that cannot be beat...anywhere...if you have a $5M income!!!!!
