The UK coins that we use every day are changing.

As we enter a new Carolean era, both the ‘heads’ and ‘tails’ of our circulating coinage will now have brand new designs.
From the 1p to the £2, eight new coins have been authorised by HM treasury and approved by King Charles III.
The brand-new coins feature wildlife designs including the flowers of the four nations, bees, a salmon, a puffin, a capercaillie, oak leaves and acorns, a red squirrel and a dormouse. Together they represent themes of conservation, something that is close to the King's heart https://www.royalmint.com/shop/monarch/charles-iii/
The link has some lovely bullion coins also.

The coins look very nice, I'll have to buy my grandchildren a presentation pack each. Williams head will be on coins soon I fear?

I have a tiny number of British coins and a good number of British stamps dating back to the 1920's which is sitting there in my box with American stamps back to the around the 1840's.

I do have a fair number of Canadian pennies back to the 1930's to maintain while I have dollar coins from the 1870-1880's and American pennies from 1909 starting with the rare VDB version also American nickels from the 1930's onwards as well.

Too bad that Mexico coins doesn't show up as they are too different from American coins, but I do have a fair number of Philippine Pesos and paper currencies some are quite attractive too.

You must be able to have French, German, Spanish coins and from other nearby nations before they go to the quatloos currency they have now.

I was brought up in Sterling pounds shillings and pence. My dad once gave me half a crown worth 2 shillings and sixpence, I held on to that bugger for as long as k could, it was a fortune to me.
A full crown I never saw I don't think, that was worth a full five bob, that's half of a Ten Bob note, ten shillings!
A ten shilling note was a large note. it was a brown colour if memory serves me well.

Was around 10 years old when an old guy in a ground floor apartment died, his family came round to empty it, they saw us kids outside just hanging around and invited us to take anything we wanted.

We were like rats up a drainpipe, straight in opening drawers and cupboards. We found silver chains, silver candlesticks and then i found the Georgian silver matchbox.

We all took our treasure to an antique shop in town, Dave got 10 shillings for the candlestick... Gary got 10 shillings for the thick silver chain.... yeah you guessed it, I got 10 shillings for the silver matchbox. It didn't matter, we'd all never seen so much money in our lives.

We'd been totally ripped off... but we didn't care, our pockets were full for once.
