A 585-mile wall of snow is expected to hit Britain after appearing on latest weather charts. The huge wintry front is heading for the UK, with temperatures expected to fall in the coming weeks. Weather maps have turned purple indicating snow is on its way. An area stretching from the south coast of England to the Highlands, in Scotland, looks set to be covered in snow according to the latest projections
As much as 5cm could fall per hour over higher ground, while the south west tip of the country could see heavy rain instead. The chilly blast will come on Thursday, February 22

Oh no! Be careful Mr Neo! Shiny side up! I imagine few are experienced at driving on ice and snow! They might end up on the wrong side of the highway!!

(sorry, it's my dry English humor) :thumbsup20:

And serious questions ...

Do you heat with oil, electric, or something else?

Do you have "winter" diesel there?

I have to be thankful, another almost snowless winter with temperatures 10 deg above normal here in WPA.

Of course, that could all change tomorrow, but so far so good.

Unless using wood, everyone needs electricity to heat.

Our house is fuelled by natural gas (boiler/cooker) we use electricity off the grid for everything else.

A month ago we got our first and only real snow at about 3 inches, tonight we might get 3 inches. It looks like about 11/2 so far.
