NISHTA MAUREE SAYS SHE IS SCARED FOR THE FUTURE OF HER FAMILY WITH LOOMING VISA COSTS
Nishta Mauree came to the UK (https://www.standard.co.uk/topic/uk) from Mauritius in 2006. During that time, she has only used the NHS (https://www.standard.co.uk/topic/nhs) once: to give birth to her baby daughter in 2022. And yet from Tuesday, she faces a bill of more than £1,000 every year just to access basic healthcare (https://www.standard.co.uk/topic/healthcare).

The Hackney mother and charity worker is among tens of thousands of migrants (https://www.standard.co.uk/topic/migrants) that will be affected by a 66 per cent rise in the immigration health surcharge (IHS) from February 6.

Extra costs should have been introduced years ago.

Back in 1954, President Eisenhower introduced a bill called "Operation Wetback", which was to rid Mexican workers and others that weren't authorized to be here. What go's around comes around?

A thousand pounds a year? Hell, Obamacare cost me that x4. What a deal!

As soon as the UK implements an indigenous peoples payback system, I'ma gonna emigrate back to my ancestral homeland in the Midlands and claim my 40 hectares and a mule! :smiley_ROFLMAO:

She has been there since 2006 and hasn't become a citizen, it's time for her to leave.
