This event happens 5 miles away from my house, even when I was young and daft I wasn’t daft enough to have a go at this.

how many pints are required to achieve that degree of flexibility, grace, and physical resilience (not to mention stark raving fearlessness)?

I assume that hill is steeper than it looks, and they wait till it rains, or they purposely wet it down? :dontknow:

What is the prize, assuming there is a winner (first to reach the bottom, alive)?

Is the local ambulance on standby? I used to race motorcycles. I never won. I have a strong aversion to breaking things inside my body. The guys who did win, more often than not, sooner or later, they got to ride in the ambulance.

It’s very steep, st Johns ambulance crews are there and a rescue helicopter is on standby.

One year a guy came from Japan to enter a race, he broke his neck. :(

I've got to ask......Before this started did someone yell "Hey look at this?". That's what Buba's do.

I think that guy in the red shirt broke his wrist?

It must be an optical illusion to watch it from that camera angle because it doesn't look steep at all?

Hills never look as steep as they are till you get about halfway up.

I had to get my FAA Physical done today. We discussed my medical history and I said, Football, Rodeo, Racing Motorcycles, breaking horses, Jumping out of airplanes and getting shot at and blown up.

He asked how much of that involved excess alcohol. ... I told him enough that by the time I reached thirty I decided I'd had enough for three lifetimes and quit.:smiley_ROFLMAO:

The older I get the more kick I get out of watching drunks and asking myself if I was ever that bad... .

I gave the kids/family a short list of times that I probably should have died, they were speechless.

Oddly, only one involved alcohol.

You led a much cleaner life than I. Oddly enough most of my near death experiences were times I was completely sober as well. At least those I can remember.

Apparently we were not.

Admittedly for about a ten year span I was worse than most. I'm not an alcoholic but I never saw the sense in drinking at all if I wasn't going to get slobbering drunk.

Fortunately I survived it and grew up.
