Three Presidents & The Olympic Games

The democracy crowd is in hog heaven over the Olympic Games being held in South Korea. They tell us the Olympics promote democracy. If it is true everyone connected to the Olympics should be locked up. Jokes aside.

In 2009 most Americans were relieved when the 2016 Olympics went to Rio de Janeiro. Obama’s failure to get the Olympic Games for Chicago was his greatest accomplishment. He proved that Americans would just as soon not be ripped off by international crooks.

The slap to Chicago was such that some IOC members were left squirming. The city's plans for Olympic competition along its stunning Lake Michigan waterfront had long made it a front-runner and earned support from the highest possible level -- Obama himself. First lady Michelle Obama flew in two days before the vote to butter up IOC members, an essential part of the selection process. And Obama himself flew in Friday morning.

IOC members had seemed wowed, posing for photos with Mrs. Obama and taking souvenir shots of the president with their mobile phones. But, in the vote, Chicago was shunned.

Rio wins host bid; Chicago was first out

Rio beats out Madrid as 2016 Olympics host

Chicagoans did not want the Olympics in their town. The Chicagoans interviewed on TV at the time were rooting for Rio.

The collective intelligence of Illinois voters was laughable because they gave us the Chicago sewer rat, while Chicagoans were too smart to punish themselves with that fraud known as the Olympic Games. They knew that Olympic sharpshooters ride into town on tax dollars, scoop up the money, then ride off into the sunset leaving the local suckers to pay the bills.

Cleanup costs is the tip of the iceberg. Building stadiums, etc., includes federal funding in the billions. Security alone exceeds one billion federal tax dollars.

A combination of state, local, or federal, taxpayers build the facilities. Promoters sell the tickets, sell endorsements, rake it in from concessions and so on. The promoters, sometimes called the Olympic Committee, have no out of pocket expenses going in.

Taxpayers funding the Olympic Games is no different than taxpayers building the tents for a circus; the hustlers make the money then skip town leaving the suckers to clean up the elephant shit.

Tax dollar funding for sporting events cannot be called capitalism by any stretch of the imagination. Sporting events should survive on their customer base. When the government forces everyone to support a sport by building a stadium, or an Olympic city, that is big ticket nanny state economics. There is not a whit of difference between forcing Americans to pay for the Olympic Games, and forcing them to fund a political cause they disagree with?

Incidentally, the former Soviet Union was largely responsible for today’s tax dollar scam.

Decades ago the complaint was that the Soviet Union’s Olympic athletes were professionals because the government paid, trained and housed them. That was the wedge the sharpshooters used to perpetrate a fraud on American taxpayers. The Olympic Committee somehow convinced the government that American Olympic athletes would retain their amateur status if taxpayers built the facilities. Russian professionals also competed in those facilities but nobody mentions that.

This good news of a sort:

Olympics viewership is down, even as NBC pays more for the rights to air it
If recent trends continue, it’ll only get worse.

2018 Winter Olympics: Viewership is down and costs are up for NBC - Recode

The Olympic Games is always bad news because NBC pays the hustlers with tax deductible advertising dollars. In short: Hundreds of million of Americans do not watch the Olympic Games, but they pay to broadcast the fraud.

Jimmy Peanuts boycotted the Olympics in 1980 to protest The Soviet Union’s war in Afghanistan. His motive was solid, while most Americans were as pleased as punch that the Olympic Games took a big hit.

President Trump had more reason to boycott the Olympics in South Korea than President Carter had in 1980. My point. Trump is the only president that could find a way to look worse than Jimmy Carter.

p.s. At the end of WW II, Soviet troops occupied Afghanistan and showed no signs of leaving. At that time the U.S. was the only country that had atomic weapons, and the means to deliver them. I will paraphrase what President Truman told Uncle Joe Stalin: “You have 48 hours to pack your balloons and hit the road.” Uncle Joe knew exactly what the Man from Missouri meant and several days later there was nary a Soviet soldier to be found in Afghanistan.

After the Soviet Union became a nuclear power, based in part on technology received from American Communist traitors, the Soviets in 1979 tried to enslave Afghanistan. So much for surrendering the nuclear monopoly that would have insured a better world today.

That would be nice. They could keep Lindsay Vaughn and the rest of the anti-American fag , so called athletes in prison work camps forever.

I wasn't pleased that the Olympics took a big hit when carter did that. I thought he was being a jerk. Many athletes missed their greatest chances because of what he did. Did the media support his decision? I'm guessing they did? I don't remember.

However, what a change we have today where OUR Media gushes over anyone not in this administration. They've pushed for minority control of the Olympic teams. They're destroying our men. They try to destroy our standing. It's as if they want us to be a third world s***hole. Look at this past weekend. Making a big deal out of KimJongUn's sister of all things.

    Olympics in South Korea.

To Calypso Jones: It comes down to the percentage. The number of Americans who do not like the Olympics for different reasons far outnumber Americans who watch the games.

To Calypso Jones: I had to do a quick look at Yo. Off the top of my head her message smacks of the standard liberal garbage: “We’s all god’s chillun.” I assume she means “closer” under Communism —— after her brother nukes South Korea:

"I hope Pyongyang and Seoul get closer in our people's hearts and move forward the future of prosperous unification," she said in her guest book message, referring to the capitals of North and South Korea.

Naturally, the MSM prefers Yo over Ivanka:

Seen by some as her brother's answer to American first daughter Ivanka Trump, Kim, 30, is not only a powerful member of Kim Jong Un's kitchen cabinet but also a foil to the perception of North Korea as antiquated and militaristic.

I finally found an interesting topic in the Olympic Games:

The enemy of your enemy is not your friend. Kim Yo-jong, deputy director of the Propaganda and Agitation Department of North Korea, and sister of Kim Jong-un, is no exception.

This is, apparently, news to the news media. As the Winter Olympics opened in South Korea, US reporters and analysts gave Kim the TMZ treatment, going so far as to liken her to Ivanka Trump.

That Ivanka comparison, by the way, brought to you by The Washington Post. A dispatch on Kim from Anna Fifield began, “They marveled at her barely-there makeup and her lack of bling. They commented on her plain black outfits and simple purse. They noted the flower-shaped clip that kept her hair back in a no-nonsense style.”

Strange reading a red carpet-like report about a member of a regime that has concentration camps the size of Los Angeles, where children have been secretly photographed starving in the streets and whose leader uses anti-aircraft weaponry to execute his political enemies.

The "wardrobe malfunction" of one of the figure skaters, Yura Min, an American citizen representing South Korea at the Olympics, was fussed and frou-froued about as something tabloid-worthy for much of the press. Oops, a wardrobe malfunction, get the camera out. It was explained by Min as such: "But, as we all know, stuff happens."
