    Lightbulb A Dog's Life...

Why did it take me so long to understand this reality??? Letís make sure our dogs do what their suppose to do!?

    I Just Realized Something:

My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day. He has his food prepared for him. His meals are provided at no cost to him.

He visits the Dr. once a year for his checkup and again during the year, if any medical needs arise.

For this he pays nothing, and nothing is required of him.

He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than he needs, but he is not required to do any upkeep.

If he makes a mess, someone else cleans it up.

He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep.

He receives these accommodations absolutely free.

He is living like a king and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever.

All of his costs are picked up by others who earn a living.

I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a ton of bricks ~

MY dog is obviously a CONGRESSMAN that is more concerned for his self-aggrandizement!!!

I noticed all of those things too.

Plus I never wake my dogs up to take me to the bathroom.
I don't make them pick me up to put me on furniture.
I don't make them cover me up when I'm cold.
Plus I don't just STARE at them until they figure out what I want.
Oh & I've never pushed one of them out of bed.

We'd still be cowering by the night's fire with sharp sticks without these critters.......
If you don't practice...you'll sound like it. And, if you don't tune, your life will sound like it, too. Listen to the intervals. That's where it all hides from you.....

Hey, comparing a dog to a congress critter is unfair to dogs.

Our badger would just stare back all day long. He's not to bright.
Our Kami would catch on real quick & paw me, scratching the hell out of me in the process.
Our Roddy wouldn't be there. He would be in my wife's lap.

True....but our beloved dogs only live to be around 12-14 years old. And even then, they know to just go lay down somewhere out of our way, while not trying to stay in office 60 years.

    You forgot:

    --Humps everything he sees.

    --Chases pussy.

    --Drinks out of toilets.

--Will always accept treats, no questions asked.

    --Likes to dig in garbage.

--Gets in to fights with other dogs, over said garbage, sexual partners, or just because.

Still, though...most dogs I know are far more willing to work, than the average Congress critter.

    They are of higher character.

And, dogs are most certainly, more honest, and sincere.....

True (or at least we think such is true...). Currently, archaeologists and palentologists believe that humanity domesticated Wolves/Dogs, before we started domesticating grains/crops......

(That is a LONG time ago, but, it makes perfect sense for a social group of Hunter/Gatherers...it is as if the Canine, was the PERFECT animal to be incorporated into human families/clans/packs.....)

I simply can't believe that I forgot this off of my dogs do list.

Eat or otherwise DESTROY computer headphones.
As a puppy (the first year & a half) our Kami had a "thing" for my computer headphones. She destroy 12 (yes, really) pair of headphones. I guess she wanted to find the "people" inside them, I don't know. After she killed a couple of them my wife (the rational one) suggested that I do all sorts of stuff to protect them. I refused because I wasn't going to loose a battle with a (then) 8 lb puppy. There at the end of her "headphone" phase I was buying them 3 at a time. And for those that are interested.....I did outlast her.

I will admit that I was a little disheartened once when I bought 3 pair & she killed 2 of them within 3 days or the time a pair only lasted me 2 hours before she got my new set. But BY GOD I won in the end (so far).
