Pharmacy Says They Deliver ALZHEIMER’S Medications To Members Of Congress

I really want to laugh at this story. So a bunch of old stogies (and stogiettes) in Congress need medicines to keep them off of life support. This is news?

Pharmacy owner, Dr. Mike Kim, said that he has “gotten used to” knowing highly sensitive information about some of the most powerful people in Washington, STAT reported.

At first it’s cool, and then you realize, I’m filling some drugs that are for some pretty serious health problems as well. And these are the people that are running the country,” Kim said, listing treatments for conditions like diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

I think he is a whistleblower....a subtle and careful one but he was alerting us. I think that is good.

    He'll probably lose the contract.

Also: Now his business can be targeted for terrorism. Imagine substituting some poisons for drugs, in some bottles. Either do an overnight switch or do it in shipment. Take a lot of planning, but easily doable.

I don't think he was out of line - these are valid concerns - but now he's a target, both for investigation, for a replacement pharmacist, and for terrorist attempts.

Drugstores IN or NEAR large office complexes is commonplace.

    Whats the big deal?

Like saying a drugstore near a hospital complex with nursing homes is abnormal.

Business does not usually try to AVOID customers.

Like I said, for the most part, I don't care. I just don't appreciate having to pay for this service on top of the pay we already pay.
Secondly, although no shock, finding out that our Congresscritters are on heavy duty meds, while on the job.
If any of us were under the influence of such meds while on the job, we'd be sent home; sometimes, forever.
I've only had two beers in dog years.

It is difficult only for the others.
It is the same when you are stupid.

No different than your neighborhood Rx.

I don't know how it is in your neighborhood, Dan; but most places, you can't get the pharmacy to deliver across the store, let alone across town.

I suppose there are small independent druggists who do that, still; but most medical plans stipulate a provider or approved providers.

You must be way out in the boonies. Prescriptions are shipped by mail, UPS, delivered by courier, and other ways all over the country. Walmart, CVS, Rite-Aid.

Diabetes I'm not so worried about, but the old timers disease? Anybody on that should resign or be removed, but we have the private medical record thing. Likely Feinstein and Pelosi both are on it.

    Mail delivery is another matter.

Me being old-fashioned, I don't much like it.

    As for...let's see? Cleveland, Ohio...Stevens Point, Wisconsin...Eau Claire, Wisconsin...Escanaba, Michigan...Missoula, Montana...I haven't found a single drugstore that offers delivery.

Some of those places are the "boonies." Some are not.

Retail delivery is not a standard service or even a practical extra-cost option anymore.
