The British SAS do it right. @Big Dummy

MOLLE AIRBORNE WEBBING SPECIAL FORCES PARA MULTICAM MTP CAMO MODULAR SAS SOLIDER | eBay

Chest webbing that holds survival as well as battle equipment. In the event a SAS soldier needs to escape and evade, or time is of the essence - they can drop
their rucksack and be more mobile and faster. Ammo , water , energy bars , first aid, survival ..... Is all on their belt..

Neat idea if you ask me.

But then again , the British SAS has always been the worlds premier Special Forces unit .

    Joe :

Some of the best parts of Andy McNabb's (pseudonym) book Bravo Two Zero was his descriptions of his kit and what he used after going on the run. The packing description of the Bergan (pack) the plate carrier chest rig and the survival items in the belt kit are just as you say.

The boutique civilian tiny monocular he swore by but never named by brand, I would like to find. But could never figure out what it was.
