    Trump Shifting Authority Over Military Operations Back to Pentagon





    It seems that every war we've had in the 20th and 21st century has been micromanaged by the White House. Could a business manager be changing this?


    It appears so. President Trump has appointed a three star National Security Advisor who seems to think it's the place of the Pentagon to make those decisions – and act upon them. The does do advise the Commander-in-Chief as is appropriate.


    While it remains unclear whether the new administration will come up with a strategy significantly different from its predecessor’s, the Trump team may have an effect on how the one it inherited is carried out.


    Potentially, by giving field commanders more leeway to exploit opportunities on the battlefield, the Trump administration can execute the Obama administration’s strategy more efficiently,” Mr. Exum said.

    I like the thought of a military man making those decisions. I never could understand all these "career politicians" making the decision of where and when we go to war. Seems that Trump puts a great deal of stock in what the military leaders say and that's a good thing IMO.

    Well you know Obama liked to stir up trouble from the White House. Like the Arab Spring and weapons to his rebel friends.

    Who cares if that got our people killed and caused a major Refugee crisis with no military strategy behind it.

    Korea was not a war, and is till active to this very day as all that is in place is a cease fire.

    The Bay of Pigs was never a war not even a police action. The US never showed up.

    Vietnam was not a war either, it was a police action.

    The last war we had was WWII.

    I'm a realist. I'm not buying into what Totalitarians are calling war these days. War is war fuck the bastards that declare it some other name without going through congress. To me war is war. You pull out the bombers and troops to occupy unfriendly space. It's a war in my book. We should ask the Iraqis or Isis what they call their repeated attacks and battles with America. Do you think the Vietnamese will agree they were carpet bombed in a police action?
