“Ford will drastically cut the number of hourly workers at its factory that builds the Ford F-150 Lightning as sales of electric vehicles slow,” a local media outlet reported.

“While EV sales are growing in the U.S.,” the report adds, “the pace is falling well short of the industry’s ambitious timetable, and many consumers are turning to hybrid vehicles instead.”

“Of the 2,100 workers who make up three work crews at the Dearborn facility, a third will remain. … Ford will transfer 700 workers to” to another Michigan plant while the remaining 700 will “either take a retirement package offered during last year’s contract talks with the United Auto Workers or will take a reassignment in southeast Michigan.”

EV's are a really good, fun, and practical choice for a lot of people in a lot of scenarios, but it really should be a personal buying choice and not a government mandate. I am good with regulations and requirements for increased MPG for gas powered vehicles, but those regulations shouldn't be used in a way to almost mandate an EV purchase.

Yet Democrats continue to vote for these people who are trying to force Americans to buy something they clearly do not want and can not afford.

I personally nor physically can't stop it, but the automaker lobby will ultimately be that main mechanism for pushback along with any negative impacts to the economy that would hurt those politicians' chances at reelection.
