Grass - I Met Little Sadie and I Shot Her Down

I went back home, I got into bed, with a 44 pistol under my head.

These jokers can play their instruments, and as a pseudo-musician, I respect them. Many if not most are from the north or west these days. This is a tribute thread to my friend who got me into some of it, then died from a Black Widow bite (actually the doctor's treatment).

Gimme that grass! If you haven't heard live albums from the All-Star Bluegrass Jam; Tony Rice, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglass, Sam Bush, then you haven't heard bluegrass perfected.

Doc killed him with the antidote. Allergic reaction.

I helped him clean out his garage a few months earlier and we saw like 3 of those SOBs, I told him that he better get rid of them somehow. Man, it's one thing for an older family member to die, but a young friend...

No problem, bud. Not meant to be a sob thread, a bit of a celebration of the music he loved, not even that, just a grass thread. We're all gonna meet that end, right!

Best dobro player ever, Jerry Douglas.

Double bass string-playing is the shit. Hits the brown note and heart strings. People don't even know what grass has done with classical and how it was punk long before rock played fast. They were playing fast while Elvis was singing slow shit and being a pop icon like Bieber and the Beatles.

3:40 till the end, possibly my favorite shit ever.

There you go! That's a classic one. Nothing is more attractive than Beyonce's half time hippyhoppy gyrations other than square dancing honeys in summer dresses.

The thing about those songs is that these were songs from the "moral good old days" and they have super naughty lyrics like:

Where were you last Friday night when I was laid up in jail, been round town with another man--wouldn't even bring me my bail!

I finally remembered which one of those old foggies I saw live, Del McCoury. His energy was impressive.

Here's the original of my favorite from that set. Wait for the high notes. lol.
