    How to distill essential oils: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Essential-Oils

    Most essential oils can be kept for at least two years, but some have extraordinary shelf lives. To maximize the useful life of your oil, keep it in a dark glass bottle or stainless steel container. Use a clean funnel to pour the oil into the container, and make sure the container is impeccably clean before pouring the oil into it. Store in a cool, dark place.

    There are plenty of people willing to sell you kits for $400 and on up, most of which you still have to assemble yourself. Part of the cost is copper itself. The other part is that they cut the parts for soldering. Something anyone who can has some basic skills can also do themselves (skills which are more valuable than a $400 kit and well worth learning)

    The "Instructables" link shows how a still can be used to extract oils from plants/herbs for medical, aromatherapy or other reasons.

    I'm not sure about this one, but it's worth a look:

    Just don't drink while you are cleaning the glassware.

    I think I'd probably go the glassware route.

    Good plan. Currently my beverage production hobbies only involve making Dandelion wine. I've never made it before and this is my first batch;

    Three weeks from now, I'll rack the wine (pour into new containers leaving the sediment behind) then store for 6-12 months. The longer the better is my understanding.

    The GOOD stuff is worth waiting for! Drink half with a Thanksgiving deep-fried Cajun turkey and half for the Fourth of July!

    The last time I had dandelion wine I woke up the next morning bleeding - cut the crap out of myself. Gotta watch that stuff.
