No drinking for me this weekend either. I am doing work all weekend, then going out to celebrate a friend's birthday at my favorite local dive bar. There I will be downing sh*tty PBRs and Peruvian Bearf*ckers.

    I'm dreaming of Jim Beam.

It will be a dream for many months to come.

I have been close to the porcelain throne on many occasions. I can say that I have paid a visit only once, and not at a frat party. I am looking forward to hitting up my local spot this upcoming week. The bartenders are libertarian/anarchist and the bar is full of libertarians/anarchists, a young, entrepreneurial, good-looking, libertarian man's dream.

Had to look it up! Looks good. Neat or on the rocks?

I've been there more times than I care to remember, but haven't been in decades. I know my limits these days.

I only got to my limit once, and it was in an interview I had in my pledge process with a frat bro where I was not obliged to drink. I chose to get myself black-out drunk. Needless to say, I have never been at that point since, though I have taken care of countless girls I hooked up with and guy friends that have reached that point in recent months.

I've experienced, "near" if not actual, alcohol poisoning twice. I'd rather have the fucking flu.

Same here, dude. Same here. It's even worse when you have to take care of others experience alcohol poisoning. Too many of my recent hook ups have ended in babysitting.

Yes. Getting toasted can be fun; but when ya go over the line...it's not idly that they call it "getting hammered." It hurts about as much; with the side disadvantages of puking on your carpeting or defecating in your pants.

Diplomat, I wouldn't be bragging about getting young women bombed enough to boink. There are people with not-so-nice memories...that happened to a young woman I was friendly with; wanted to be more than friendly with; who was gotten insensibly drunk (she was 18) and then got tupped by a guy I thought was a friend.

It is not a good memory and not to this day. I swore in public I'd kill the guy - fortunately I didn't and nothing happened to him. He has been abnormally successful in that little town, which I sometimes worked out of, 30 years later on the railroad.

He's got his own real-estate company, spends a lot of time golfing and at charity events...and I'm working nights. Like a schmuck.
