How awful! I always enjoyed his sense of humor! RIP my friend. My prayers for your family. You will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Progressivism is not progressive. Oppression is ended and equality is achieved not by advancing anyone but by retarding the achievements of some.

Social justice is punitive, not restorative. No one is restored under a progressive system, but people are often punished in order to guarantee equal outcome.

A wise man can learn more from a foolish answer than a fool can learn from a wise answer.

Losing friends, even new ones, really hurts.

RP was the second to welcome me here.

God bless and comfort his family.
    Godspeed Rickity.

That should work. Or even just instructing whoever it is that would go through your things and settle your affairs - just pop a note up somewhere. An email address to someone here would work better - it's disconcerting when "a poster" pops in to announce that the person who owned the account is gone. Seen it on other boards.

That leaves me as a big question mark, though. I'm a stranger in a stranger land - I moved out here, hurt my back, got serial layoffs and then was arm-twisted into leaving. And since, have started with the relatively quiet life of a single retiree.

We've all heard of someone who gets a buyout, or wins the lotto, or suddenly makes money on a single investment...and then retires, and becomes a hermit. Well, I'm well on my way to that end. I haven't got the 38 cats, not yet, but otherwise, I'm progressing.

And I'm a lot closer to the closing chapter than I was, twelve years ago, when I started my Grand Adventure...leaving CSX/Conrail, and taking a new job in a new state. Nobody in my family seems to live past 75.

So, so many kind thoughts here. Yes, meant for our dear friend, Rickity, but do our hearts good, as well.

Thank you, good folks, for helping us all lean on one another. Rickity, surely a treasure, who you can't help but think of fondly. Even when chided, at his expense, he took it well. And yes, I did roll my eyes at his, "hubba hubba" comments, that seem so inconsequential now.

If he thought for a minute that you needed help, and he could, Rickity/Wes, was Johnny on the Spot! A man who adored his wife above all treasures on this earth. That says a lot about a man. I swear he'd take off his raincoat (heck! His own shirt!), to lay across a puddle to spare his true love from muddying her shoes.

He loved his life. He loved us all. And God bless him, it's 'cuz he loved his country!

Rest in peace, good man. Your heart of gold shall remain...

When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead.
It is difficult only for the others.
It is the same when you are stupid.

Reading the posts here brings back memories and thoughts of a good friend, it's also brought a tear......

Rickity was one of the first to really make me feel welcome here. My first avatar here, the '56 Chevy, was a favorite of his. I'll be using it again for a few days in his memory.

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

He was one of my longest lasting friends in the forums....................
I don't have many friends left............
I'll wrap him up in with the grieving for my son...............
It was Wes who talked me into coming back here.
