It's only 'teary' to me because it has a special 'association'
Men are supposed to cry too, it helps your body release oxytocin and endorphins and make you feel better.

First year it was set up, I broke those lights until it bored me.

This year I don't even see them. I guess my box is still set up to not-be-decorated, from last year...

Interesting, though. That things are slowing down, computer-wise. What I mean is...I've got three computers and a netbook. ALL of them I've had for about five years. The desktop IBM-type, I bought new, Dec. 2014. The Mac Mini, I bought used, summer 2015. The Toshiba big-laptop I bought out of a pawn shop, Nov 2014; and the netbook, used from a private seller, Jan 2015.

Why is that remarkable? Because, up until this time, you were lucky to have a computer last TWO years. My first computer, an iMac, lasted 20 months before a critical fail-meltdown. My first netbook lasted 18 months, and died. My first regular laptop, fried the motherboard at three years.

Now these things last, longer and longer...I had gone through ten computers from 2001 to 2011; and now, I haven't bought one in five years.

    ....boring...sorry...

I watched "A Christmas Story" live. From behind the cameraman.

The downtown scene was filmed in the Higbee's Department Store in downtown Cleveland. The Christmas street scenes, also. They did it from 1am to 4am for four days - did it then because they had to close the streets to modern traffic.

They'd hired about 300 extras with period cars, to drive around - in the salty slush. They'd have had to pay me a LOT to put my classic car in that corrosive vetch...but, yeah. I was with Tower City Security (Tower City was the modern name for the Terminal Tower office and concourse management company) and we had to steer these extras and their hobby-cars, here, there, and everywhere...

Hey, if santa sees you when your sleeping and knows what all you did, if he knows who's naughty and nice, why the fuck do we have to write him letters?

It's not like Snoopy is at the bottom of the screen shooting the lights with an AR-15 with the posters having the ability to control his aim.
Regarding my avatar: I am the one on your left as you view it

I don't hate Christmas. Before my children I did my best to ignore it and after my children grew up I did my best to ignore it. That's much easier to do in Mexico where I live. The only places I get deluged with Christmas music is Sam's Club, Walmart, and McDonalds. See a pattern?
