They take an hour of daylight off of one end of the day and stick it on the other end of the day.
Is there anyone out there who understands this logic?

I wish they would just leave time alone. We just moved the clocks back an hour, so next time move them forward a half hour and just stop, make that the time and no more moving it twice a year.

Don't know if this is true, years ago i heard that businesses would get more customers with the extra hour.

If I remember correctly day light savings time goes back to WWII to grant more daylight at the end of the day for farmers and factory workers. Now we it keep primarily for after school sports which take place in the spring and early summer.
I too wish they would just keep one way or other.

I like standard time like we have now. I like when daylight comes early and don't need an extra hour of daylight at the end of the day. I get more done this way and sleep better with an early nightfall.
I do understand it affords many respective workers an opportunity to get more things done after the dictated work mandate.

States closer to the equator don't see the wide variation in sunrise/sunset, of the seasons.
Here, closest to the northernmost geographical point in the Lower 48...I do.
Sunset, high summer, is about 9:30.
Sunset, winter solistice, is about 4:45.
I don't defend this idiocy. Just making note of what drives it.
