It's referring to a crazy old man.

And there are a lot of them here.

    hey

As to your theory of robots doing the work, folks would have to own one and then rent it out for it's services, yes or no? Where do folks get such a robot but from the free market system.

In all things (beyond just robots) it would have to rotate on a class system anyways. It would obviously have to be a globalized system of a political class, and elite worker class, volunteerism to start etc, and big etc.

After a long haul...it would then get to what all things that exist in nature, regardless of man made societal structures - which is force. Vacuums produce more applied force, and there surely would be vacuums.

That is not even getting into whatever religious components would further be introduced into a globalized political class governing society.

I am certain the words Eloi and Morlock would come up often in these types of discussions.
The Progressives have become full blown NAZIs, to thwart a Hitler that doesn't exist...since that is the only way they can express, and self justify, their fascism.

In a nutshell, the concept's about transitioning society away from the dependency on manual labor & many other forms of work (in other words, needing a job) to obtain or access the goods/services/resources that we need or desire. Part of the concept entails the elimination of trade (money, barter, etc.), meaning there is no need for a job to make money & no need for money to pay for things.

What interests me is how society might be able to achieve this, one day, and the only way that I think it can be achieved is by implementing automation, robotics, and other advancements in technology (eg 3D printing) to replace the need for all manual labor, and many other forms of work and tasks.

We have actually already made a huge amount of progress in transitioning towards such a society, with computers and the internet; they cover the storing & processing of information, and telecommunication for both transfer of digital data, as well as things like real-time streaming content (audio/video calls & meetings, etc.).

This is only a very brief overview of the concept and it leaves out so many details & explanations of how/why it might work; people have so many questions about it, once they're aware of it, that it could take an entire forum (or at least several threads) to address & discuss the concept.
I look forward to watching you polish that turd and try to convince people that some whiz kid(s?) can instantly create a faultless utopia that will surpass the results of 500 years of the Protestant revolution that instituted the Protestant Work Ethic which started and built this republic.

Got bless you and welcome to the TPF.

    I'm still here! LOL

I've been reading the comments; I just haven't had a chance to respond so far, because we still live in a world where I need a day job.

Yup, once the magical robots start performing all our work, we won't need jobs. The world will be perfect for everyone.
