41-Year-Old Disabled Man Euthanized After Government Health Officials Decide to Cut Funding for In-Home Care
A 41-year-old disabled man was put to death after government officials cut funding for his in-home care.
Sean Tagert was euthanized on August 6th in Canada Sean had ALS or Lou Gehrigís Disease.

Canadian Sean Tagert, aged 41, was killed by assisted suicide after health officials decided to cut the funding for his in-home care hours.
Mr Tagert suffered from Motor Neurone Disease (MND) which is known in Canada as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). His illness reduced his ability to move his body, eat or speak, however his mental awareness remained unaffected. Doctors recommended 24-hour in-home care to support Mr Tagert.
However, Vancouver Coastal Health, initially only offered Mr Tagert 15.5 hours of care a day, which was then raised to 20 hours a day, meaning that Mr Tagert was forced to pay $263.50 a day for the remaining care that he needed to survive.
According to Grandin Media, on social media, Mr Tagert wrote a status which explained that two Vancouver Coastal Health officials visited his home and confirmed that they were cutting funding for his already inadequate care hours.
After receiving this news Mr Tagert wrote a number of devastating social media statusís which read: ďSo last Friday I officially submitted my medically assisted death paperwork, with lawyers and doctors, everything is in proper order. Itís been a month since I submitted my appeal to the Vancouver Coastal Health patient care quality department. They didnít even respondÖ.Welcome to the great Canadian healthcare system.Ē

Mr Tagert was killed by assisted suicide on August 6th.

    There's socialized medicine for ya.

The Canadian government has plenty of money to import and support "refugees".

In all fairness, I've had two friends pass away from ALS in the same small town of 5000. Almost at the same time. Within a few months of each other. One male. One female.

As rare as ALS is, I often pondered the chances that TWO of my friends would die from it. Each knew the other but we're not mutual friends with each other.

Eventually you lose all motor function and just cant eat.

There is a local news woman in the baton rouge area who has battled for a long time. She's long been bed ridden and survives on IV and sheer determination to live.

But in the end, ALS is one of the most assured death sentences out there.

Whether the young man in the article decided to end it early or the Canadian government did, the end result is the same.

Yet, time is a precious luxury when one is dying and everyone deserves to determine their own time of death if possible, not any government.

Scary thing is there's some socialist over in Sweden (I think it was) advocating cannibalism to control the world population.
Pair that with socialized medicine and death panels and you get "soylent green.

You have to take the Gateway Pundit with a grain of salt. It's sensationalized, often incomplete, right leaning, click bait.

It's still wrong that his healthcare was terminated, whether he was terminally ill or not.

I go to TGP because they cover stuff that I normally wouldn't find. But you are correct in that they over do it. This story had several sources, none of which are my usual haunts. They are useful to me but I learned the hard way to check their sources.

Stephen Hawking lived to age 76. He must have had very good medical care. I sometimes wonder how or what they fed him that kept him going for such a long time. Whoever figured that out must have been a genius too.

nobody is saying what kind of money was spent or what kind of care was required. it seemed like Hawking was very bitter and depressed at the end .. probably humiliated at his total disability. I would not want to live that way but who chooses their destiny on this planet?
