That is intentional. There is a story told of a CEO of some "stereotypical" female product, like Tide Laundry Detergent or The Family Channel. He attended a NASCAR race and commented to his host "I can't believe all the women!" I can't remember what the host said, but it was something sexual in nature. The CEO said, "I don't mean that, I am talking about their numbers!"

NASCAR learned long ago that nearly half of their fans are women, and so did corporate sponsors. That is what made NASCAR great in the 1990s, oh and Dale Sr. and Jeff Gordon.

Too bad that Brian and Jim France killed the closest thing to a modern Roman coliseum by trying to put playoffs and the "Car of Tomorrow" in a sport that naturally rewards skill, technical expertise, and patience over time.

No, it's Portland, who cares? They have the liberal cesspool they enjoy.

i used to know a woman that worked in the office at the track at Daytona. She said for years they barely got by. Even in the 80’s the budget was tight for pulling off the race each year. She said big Bill’s wife used to have a fit every year because Bill bought a red sports coat for the grand marshal of the race. I think he would have a fit if he knew what his kids had done to the sport.

Big Bill created NASCAR at the Streamline Hotel in Daytona Beach, FL in 1947.Legend says that he landed in Daytona because his car broke down. BS. Bill France was a mechanic, he fixed his own car.

I always understood he picked Daytona because they were already using the beach for speed tests and the area was starting to develop. My grandfather used to go watch them race on the beach

The NBA encourages political expression, so long as it is on the left.

The Houston Rocket's general manager tweeted support for Hong Kong and the NBA went nuts.

The NBA's 'position' is understandable, based on their words, and actions over the past few years:

As I have been saying, all day: "The NBA hates Cops, not Commies......"
Al Swearengen: What's your partner so mad about all the time?
    Sol Star: He's not mad.
Al Swearengen: He's got a mean way of being happy.
