Homeless crisis soon coming to Texas

Some of you may be aware that homelessness has taken over all the big cities on the West Coast; Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, etc.

Well now it looks like it's coming to Austin, Texas.

Texas has begun turning Blue, and Austin is the big city at the heart of it.

Austin has been very blue since the end of the civil war, it's a cesspool. Dallas and Houston aren't much better.

For years Austin has been a stronghold for erratic liberal thinking.
Others have followed that left their homes far-afield for less intrusive environs, who unfortunately brought their baggage with them, such as the failed liberal policies they're fleeing from. Obviously deduction, logic, and smarts is not in their persona.

I have 2 sons living in Austin. And I sure do agree with the above statement. If anything I think that it's an understatement. And I agree that big cities are a magnet for liberals & they are a magnet for the homeless (or they create them there).

Unlike the Left Coast, Texas can get uncomfortably hot or cold. Not as good for tent life.

You got that right. We've had over a week of 100 or above temps where I live. It just cooled off because we got rain. But those temps & yes, every now & then cold temps keep the riff raff out of this area.

Austin has been blue for decades. When I was working I asked a lot of transients arriving to our city how they heard about us and why they came. They weren't at all bashful about telling me. "Nice weather, nice people, and you give folks like us lots of stuff." By "stuff" they meant money, housing, food, medical care. I asked a man from Philadelphia who was an alcoholic and an epileptic how he even found our small city. "Oh, all the street people have heard about your town."

As the movie said, "If you build it, they will come," and as our liberal politicians built more shelters and more services...they came.

Houston & Dallas have had seasonal homeless issues for decades ( But there is a difference between a Texas homeless freak and a Portland tent dweller who escaped Santa Cruz )

One good thing about Naptown: Seven months a year, hypothermia for tent-dwellers is possible.

Let me see if I get this straight. If you're homeless, then you're automatically a liberal?
