    Education swamp.....

"My first exposure to school politics came when I renewed my certification. The 1982 certificate only listed the courses I could teach. In contrast, the 2018 version had a 300-word “Code of Ethics” that amounted to a profession of faith in collectivism, egalitarianism, state schools, and diversity (typically limited to superficial things like skin color and gender, not ideas). Nonetheless, I proceeded, thinking that I couldn’t possibly make matters worse. That much was correct."

Please, if you have any interest in children or education read the article. It's short and I have only one point on which I object. The rot isn't 35 years old. It's goes back farther than that. In the late-60s and 70s I was working a lot with young people and spent a lot of time in classes. The rot was well underway then. That's when my son was taught the Holocaust never happened and when I complained I got a smarmy lecture about academic freedom. "Freedom to teach lies and crap?" No answer to that. That was also when a teacher was caught fondling a students breasts, admitted he'd done it but said the girl started it. He got away with it and kept his job. I was at a junior high to talk with a class and a teacher came down the hall in a sheer print dress, very short, and I could see, quite clearly, she wasn't wearing any underwear. I mentioned it to the principal and he smiled and said, "That's the new thing." I doubt the boys learned anything in class as they fantasized the 20-something teacher and the girls were getting a great example of how to dress.

I'll admit it's gone from insane to something much, much worse but it has to be changed.

I'm going to write a friend who is married to a police officer and ask if police officers now have to sign on to a liberal Ethics Code of liberal values to get hired. I think we all realize that a liberal ethics code wouldn't restrict accepting bribes, being anti-Semitic, considering all students who were white or Asian as inferior in capability, and feel free to have sex with anyone in their custody.

    Read the article.

Isn't there any way to post that article without all the flashing and flickering ads surrounding it? How can anyone concentrate on the article? At first the text kept jumping; that in itself was bad enough. At least I tried, most people don't like to do any reading at all.

My opinion on this subject: I have no doubt that your point is valid. Nothing would surprise me anymore. Any suggestions on what to do about it?

BTW, I live in a great community surrounded by charter schools and the kids are great. I often see them in the library after school and they are polite and respectful. Once my wallet fell out of my pocket while I was sitting and reading. As I was leaving the library a kid chased after me to return it. Well, I live in a conservative community so I guess that makes all the difference.

Where are the schools you're talking about?

I just went and looked at the article again and I get no ads. Now, what's the variable in this problem? It's not my posting. To stop the ads, I'd have to deal with your computer that welcomes ads.

I don't know what's causing it. I just now tried it again and the same thing happened - it's a mess.

Yahoo! I'm on a different computer today and there were only a couple of ads at the beginning that I was able to X-out. So I read the article and found it to be very informative. Evidently there's a lot going on in public schools that I didn't know about. It's disgraceful.

get yourself a script blocker (or three).

i use various add ons, adaware, adguard, ghostery, and (especially) noscript (very aggressive, only allows the content you approve, blocks nearly everything by default)

I have AdBloc Plus, and had no ad problems. American Thinker is one of my regular stops.

Re the article: It's terrifying. And I don't think there's anything we can do about these trends, frankly. Too many people have material or emotional investment in preserving the Status Quo. Generations of young people are being mis-educated while NOT being given basic literacy skills.

And with their misinformation, their lack of insight into the emotional basis for what they've been filled with...they are ready to tear it all down. Socialism offers an emotional salve to right all the wrongs those Greedy Capitalists did, starting with inventing slavery. Discarding the Constitution can end the Patriarchy and liberate various minorities - because, of course, white people's guns will be seized and white people's property and money given to the Truly Deserving.

Have fun. We are on the cusp; I've been saying it for a long time. But we don't have much time left.
