    their 88s were too tall. they hsed the pak 75 vs our matchboxes

    The 75 was a field gun and the matchboxes are/were zippo's (our tanks). You could blow up the sherman tanks with a .22

    The German 88 was one of the best weapons in the Second World War.

    As darroll said, it was absolute HELL on tanks. Not just ours, but, the Soviet T-34's as well.

    And, yet, it could still serve in it's original roll as an Anti-aircraft gun.

    Finally, it could be used as a light artillery piece.

    But, again...against tanks......

    the 88 was not used very often at the end of the war unless it was dug in. even for flak.

    Early in the war,they were also used as deck guns on U-boats.

    srry. except for its diameter, the main gun on the early war Type VII had nothing to do with the german flakartillary
