Government has functions. Wages is not a named function.
“Appearances to the mind are of four kinds. Things either are what they appear to be; or they neither are, nor appear to be; or they are, and do not appear to be; or they are not, and yet appear to be. Rightly to aim in all these cases is the wise man's task.” Epictetus

That's what will happen when sources demand that unskilled/uneducated employees get these kind of wages. These current politicians (4 freshman congresswomen) are demanding minimum wages be raised across the board & free health care along with other freebies for all.
James 1:19 says, "Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath." Being “slow to speak” is the exact opposite to speaking pressingly or with urgency. Practically speaking I believe its all about getting into the habit. Wait before you speak and consider the effects of what you are going to say. Then, if you don’t have anything to say that is constructive or edifying, don’t say anything at all!

Socialists always believe that businesses have tons of profits and they can afford to do with a bit less to help their supposedly downtrodden low-skilled employees have a better life.

Socialists also believe businesses can simply pass on to customers the increased costs of paying low-skilled employees $15.00 per hour to wash dishes or sweep floors, etc.

Of course that rarely works and in this case, the restaurant chain (35 locations) tried that and still failed to make enough profit to remain in business.

Now their former employees are jobless, thanks to clueless leftist politicians who always ruin whatever they try to 'improve'.

"Need" now means wanting someone else's (taxpayer) money. "Greed" means wanting to keep your own profit. "Compassion" is when a politician arranges the transfer. - Joseph Sobran

    Bankrupt company = Good

More people on food stamps = Good

I believe liberals when they say the Obama economy was super awesome. It's because their brains think in the exact opposite of you and I.

They also think that because some owner is worth a billion dollars that he has a billion dollars hoarded away in a bank account that he has no need for. Apparently the business runs on its own for free.

How can they allow businesses to raise prices to pay for minimum wage? That would devalue the workers wage increase.

That is exactly what happens and the poor are no better off than they were.
Ah, but there is more, another consequence the left never mentions and the right doesn't either, though they certainly should. Most unions have a clause in their contracts that call for new wage negotiations when the minimum wage increases. This is to ensure the unions members are always better paid than the minimum wage, non-union workers. This increases the cost of living even more, thus keeping the poor in their place, and giving the Democrats the opportunity to call for yet another minimum wage increase. It's a vicious circle.

Since the first mandated minimum wage over 100 years ago now, the min wage workers have NEVER, not even once, GAINED buying power. The wage increase is offset, AND MORE, by price increases and job losses. EVERY TIME.
