    Thirty Years Of Service

The B-2 bomber. First flew July 17, 1989.

Fielded too late for desert Storm, it did pummel Serbia and Kosovo in The Impeached Ones war.

It has been updated a number of times and Id look for a Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) for it to begin before long.

Until the B-21 shows up in numbers the B-2 will (like the B-52 and B-1B) soldier on into the 2020s and beyond.

Before too long the US will get their hands on a Russian S400 air defense system. Then we can try it out against the B-2 (and others). We are not sure anybody has ever seen the thing on any widely fielded radars. Weve tried it against S300 systems and the only way the S300 operators see the B-2 is if it taxis up next to them.

And the B-22 won't be operational for a few more years.

That's okay. We still have the trusty Buffs.
