I wonder if we could catch them & ship them off to California? No bad idea. Instead catch the one's in Florida & ship those to California because they have more & won't miss them.
Go on a field trip with the Chicago Herpetological Society. Even a few decades ago, almost half the snakes they find in public parks are "non-natives". Lots of unwanted "pets" get dumped in the parks and nature preserves. I imagine most larger cities are the same.
Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your viewpoint, most of the released specimens don't make it through even a mild winter up north.
Truthfully I dont even think it realizes that anybodys trying to catch him.
He was probably in a bathtub or a kiddie pool and now hes in this giant 200 some acre lagoon just swimming aroung and having a blast.
And Im sure hes got plenty of fish, turles and frogs to snack on too
