    How capitalism works

    The Corvette.

A man named Tom Nicholson posted on his Facebook account the sports car that he had just bought and how a man approached and told him that the money used to buy this car could've fed thousands of less fortunate people. His response to this man made him famous on the internet. READ his story as stated on Facebook below:

A guy looked at my Corvette the other day and said, "I wonder how many people could have been fed for the money that sports car cost.”

    I replied I am not sure;
it fed a lot of families in Bowling Green, Kentucky who built it,

it fed the people who make the tires,

it fed the people who made the components that went into it,

it fed the people in the copper mine who mined the copper for the wires,

it fed people in Decatur IL. at Caterpillar who make the trucks that haul the copper ore.

It fed the trucking people who hauled it from the plant to the dealer

and fed the people working at the dealership and their families.

BUT,... I have to admit, I guess I really don’t know how many people it fed.

That is the difference between capitalism and welfare mentality.

When you buy something, you put money in people’s pockets and give them dignity for their skills.

When you give someone something for nothing, you rob them of their dignity and self-worth.

Capitalism is freely giving your money in exchange for something of value. Socialism is taking your money against your will and shoving something down your throat that you never asked for.

Capitalism is freely giving your money in exchange for something of value.

If the above is true then we aren't a completely capitalist country. Prime example is: We pay our elected officials & they give us NOTHING OF VALUE.

Capitalism itself, isn't bad. Too many people confuse crony capitalism with just your average everything run of the mill capitalism.

Crony capitalism is a HUGE problem. And is a lower form of fascism, when the government gets involved.

It's the best system ever invented and it comes naturally anyway. People can leave caste systems and other forms of societal oppression by building personal wealth. Not everybody can be a millionaire, but people who simply contribute to their 401k's all their working lives are becoming millionaires now and not just a few. Millions of people are doing it now. That's because of Capitalism.

All one has to know about capitalism is it is 100 percent voluntary. I am not aware of what crony capitalism means. It sounds like a term invented to excuse the Democratic party form of economics.

Crony capitalism. A good example of this are unions, the NRA, oil companies control over the EPA. corporate lobbyist. etc etc etc

Example: Take a big oil company like Exxon. The common perception is that the EPA is against the oil companies. It would seem that way. Considering all the rules and regs they have to abide by to stay in business.
But, without all those rules and regs, Exxon would have a lot more competition. They'd lose profits. Because any small oil company wouldn't have as many expensive government hoops to jump through to compete with Exxon.
So Exxon (and I'm just using them as an example. You could use a big green energy company if you wanted to)

Anyways, Exxon has less competition, which means more profits because of the EPA. And they make enough money, they can contribute to any politician that's going to keep things the way they are. Or even create new regs to keep even more competition from coming up.

One can also lose their wealth that way too. The stock market has made a lot of people rich. But it's also created a lot of poverty. There's something to be said about brokers making millions off the backs of those who invested and lost their arses.

It doesn't matter if you make millions off your 401K or you lose everything. The brokers still make money. And they're protected. That's cronyism.

    The Rise Of Crony Capitalism

Economists have long documented that government corruption is higher in poor countries than in rich countries. The ten least corrupt countries have, on average, a GDP per capita of around $40,000. They include Singapore, Denmark New Zealand, and Switzerland. Meanwhile, the GDP per capita in the ten most corrupt countries—including Sudan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan—hovers at around $5,000. Among the 177 countries evaluated for corruption, the United States is currently number 19 on the list prepared by the NGO Transparency International.
The primary form of corruption in these nations is crony capitalism. In poor countries, businesses cannot.....
