    Actually it is.

The "homeless crisis" began when President Reagan cut funding for the Mental Hospitals.

Let's call this what it is. Let's not succumb to the liberal propaganda. This is not a homeless crisis, this is a mental health crisis. These people they call homeless, are completely incapable of taking care of themselves. They should be in an institution, someone should be taking care of them.

The answer is certainly NOT to throw public money at them, that won't solve the problem.

    I disagree.

"bipartisan policies recommended that the Federal government transfer government funding of community mental health facilities back to the states. State-funded facilities as well as privately-funded facilities were not affected by that policy. Reagan signed the bill into law as part of an overall spending cut package.

As he would have known, complete state funding of facilities resulted in terrible mental healthcare, but state governments had an obligation to provide for this.
However, in 1986, he also signed into a law another bipartisan solution to have Medicaid assist with funding. The laws closed not a single facility.
Ergo, to the liberals, REAGAN CLOSED THE MENTAL HEALTH FACILITIES.
The fact that states closed some facilities and let staff go at others due to their own budget issues is unimportant because, of course, liberals hated Reagan. And still do."

    You're missing my point.

There was no homeless crisis before 1984. It didn't exist.

Suddenly in 1985 we have local officials yammering about a homeless crisis.

Hey, don't buy the propaganda. Bipartisan means liberal. If the Liberals agreed to cut funding for anything, you can be damn sure they were going to get something out of it on the back end.

In this case, never let a good crisis go to waste.

Don't be fooled, these liberals don't give a rat's ass about the homeless. All they care about is presiding over the spending of public money.

    we'll agree to disagree, then.

the states need to handle this.

i completely agree with you about not throwing money at it, that simply ends up getting siphoned away and misused.

Time for a test run on the FEMA camps. Can you hold them in. Can you make them work when they don’t want to. Can you keep them from fighting the guards. Can you divide them by affliction. Can you make them disappear when they have no one looking for them.

Is it fair to ask where the homeless get:

    New bicycles?

    New tents.

    New clothes?

    Food?

I wouldn't be surprised if some of them had cable,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Many of Trump's real estate business dealings are in these big cities, so I'm sure he's been confronted by these homelessness problems all the time.

It's unsightly and not very pleasant to look at. or smell...

If President Trump does get involved and is successful at cleaning up the problem ....he won't get the credit. California is literally a "liberal shit hole".....in more ways than one. Her people have allowed an abandonment of principles to continue for far too long. Now with this latest earthquake....she'll be in her death throes. Sometimes in life....if you don't listen you have to feel pain before you will listen. Hopefully people will watch California and learn from her mistakes....maybe.
