‘Welcome To Colorado, Where You Can Get A Safe, Legal Abortion’ Billboard Causes Controversy

A new billboard welcoming people to Colorado advertising the state as a “safe place to obtain an abortion” is causing controversy from residents and outsiders. The billboard was
installed by the group “Keep Abortion Safe,” reading: “Welcome to Colorado, where you can get a safe, legal abortion.” The sign was placed on a highway leading into Colorado from Utah.

The installation of the billboard comes as states including Georgia, Utah, and Alabama passed controversial laws which restrict abortion access in their states. Just last week, Alabama Senate voted to efficiently ban the procedure entirely unless the mother’s life is at stake. Sixteen other stated have also passed or are considering abortion bans once a fetal heartbeat is detected, which is about six weeks into pregnancy. Four states have approved so-called heartbeat abortion laws.

Utah Gov. Gary Herbed previously sign a new law in March, banning abortion in the state after 18 weeks, which is currently being challenged in court. Keep Abortion Safe co-Founder Fawn Bolak states she hopes the sign sends a message to all Utahns.
“The goal of the billboard was meant to be a bold message to our neighbors coming in. That they are now entering a state that respects and allows them to make their own reproductive healthcare decisions. We also have instances of folks traveling from all over the country to come to Colorado for the access we have.
Billboard advertising has been proven to be a successful way to spread out messages from abortion, gun bans, and amendment rights. Safe to say drivers from Utah into Colorado on Interstate 70 will get treated with the new billboard crossing state lines, trumpeting the state as a “refuge” for those seeking abortion care.

Over 8 percent of abortions performed at Colorado health centers in 2018 were from out-of-state patients. According to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, the percent is higher for health centers located near the state borders. In Fort Durango, more than a quarter of abortion services provided were from out-of-state patients, and at their Durango health center, it was more than 40 percent.

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen. — Samuel Adams

Yep. "People" who love mangling babies to death will do anything to promote their love of mangling babies to death.
It takes a FAMILY to raise a child--Not Hitlery Klinton's Socialist, Anti-Family, Nanny-State...I mean, "Village".

Islam is a religion of violence and terror as practiced by the Islamofascists. The Muslims that do speak out against terror are then terrorized by the Islamofascists and are ignored by the Lap Dog Media.

Realistically, overturning Roe v. Wade only returns the nation to the status quo ante.

    Some states will allow abortion.
    Some states will not.
I suspect some states will allow it but tax it. Government SOP, y'know.
Neither side has the requisite support for a Constitutional Amendment.

I'm pro-life but a restoration of federalism would be an improvement over the current situation.

First of all, they're insular. That's true of all illiberal Liberals. They refuse to talk to anyone who has differing views, so they never have their assumptions challenged.

And thus it's easy to repress what Abortion really IS.

Second, BECAUSE they so-hate opposition...when they have the power, they will FORCE others to LOVE it. Mere indifference will not be enough.

This is going to start an outward move of people, who came to Colorado to escape liberalism and found it followed them - on steroids.

Alaska seems to be where the individualists are now moving to. The Final Frontier. But what happens when California liberalism gets THERE...I don't know.

    YES.

In a democratic society (loosely speaking) the People have the RIGHT...to be WRONG.

If Abortion had worked its way through the system, been voted on by state legislators, with campaigns promising and defending actions or opposition...there would be popular referendum. There would be opposition to it, but not violent and not loud. Similar to the Capital Punishment debate.

INSTEAD, it was ILLEGALLY forced on the People through Judicial Activism. And so it has remained controversial for well-nigh 50 years.

It occurred to me: This sudden uprising in university Social Justice activism, probably had its roots in studies, 15 years ago, showing that young people were by-majority OPPOSED to abortion, understood it for the inhuman act it was.

THAT couldn't be. The Dyke Mafia in Higher Education was energized and activated, and here we have these young people of today, made GROTESQUE in body and mind by what they're being indoctrinated in.
