California Dems want to do away with single family homes

The American Dream right down the tubes.
Co-Author claims existing land use regulations exclude people “for economic reasons and race reasons.”
All in the name of fairness?

“The fundamental problem is that we have a massive housing shortage, which explodes housing costs and which puts enormous pressure on tenants in particular because the rents go so high,” Wiener
    told
Mother Jones. “We have to lessen that pressure by adding more housing of all varieties at all incomes.”

So what this is really about is putting section 8 housing wherever the state government should decide. It seems to me that the headline has it a bit backwards. They are not necessarily eliminating single family housing, they are eliminating the zoning that prevents low income housing.
I really don't know how they are going to solve the problem of letting in thousands of low educated low skilled people and finding them housing.
What can now happen, if this is passed, is they can build a section 8 ghetto next to Pelosi's house. Yeah, like that would ever happen. Just another hit on the little guy, the middle income people.

The headline is misleading. What the bill would do is forbid zoning residential areas as single-family housing only. Which is bad enough, but the worst part is that it wrests zoning authority from cities and counties - where it belongs - and gives it to the state. You cannot persuade me that a legislator or bureaucrat from the Land of LA understands what is needed in Lassen or Modoc Counties!

In just Los Angeles County aloan illegal aliens occupy over 100,000 section 8 housing units.

The housing crisis in California is a direct result of overpopulation.

There's enough housing in California and even affordable housing but not for 40 million people.

And even today the Democrats in Sacramento still have the welcome mat out at the border.

    ROFLMAO!!!!

    Not for EVERYONE!

Obviously, Politicians, Multi-Billionaires, and uber-wealthy Hollywood stars, all need their OWN MANSIONS.

Because, they, are, like, IMPORTANT, and shit.......

Only way to enact such a policy would be to abandon all pretense of operating as a Constitutional Republic......
Al Swearengen: What's your partner so mad about all the time?
    Sol Star: He's not mad.
Al Swearengen: He's got a mean way of being happy.

Zoning law authority always rested with the state, the local communities merely act within that authority. In other words the state says that a community can have X, Y or Z type of zoning, if they want. If a community doesn't elect to have zoning then anyone can pretty much build anything they want anywhere they want.
