How did you arrive at that name?

Do you get out and walk around South Dakota and Nebraska ?
I have not walked around the great plains, though it would be interesting to retrace the steps of Lewis from the expedition.

As for how I got the name, it's a lame story. In middle school, I used to play a card game called Magic the Gathering. It's a portmanteau of lore from there.

    QUESTION:

What kind of libertarian wants to use a false Narrative to enable government to take over the whole of the economy?

Probably none. I'm assuming you're talking about the conspiracy theory about the government somehow using AGW to take over the economy, which patently dumb on every possible front. There's zero evidence for it. Why this issue specifically but not all other scientific issues? It wouldn't even work. Like, what's the actual mechanism? Make believe in climate change...???...profit? How does that work?

    How.

There are two things government can do: Tax the SHIT out of "polluters" - meaning anyone who does anything productive.

And, BAN things. Like...energy. Creating less "pollution" - and less production of wealth.

That basically gives government an absolute veto on economic activity.

    That's not libertarianism - that's tyranny.
I never said I wanted the US government to stop global warming. In fact, I specifically said that I don't think they can. You could make an argument that they could put funding into renewable energy. I don't know if I'd agree with that argument until I heard it. In the end, renewable energy has to be cheaper. That's the only way people will buy it.

And again, this is all beside the point. It doesn't matter whether the government funds anything or not when we're talking about the science. Global warming is a thing whether or not I'm a libertarian. The two have nothing to do with each other.

We've gotten away from debate on intro threads. It's shall we say, a new-ish tradition.

    Please keep it light, everyone.
