Proper handgun sight use should be the front sight in sharp focus and the rear sight and target some what out of focus.

I have heard this before and I believe that it works.

How much improvement? That could only be done by tests and averages.

My favorite two guns to shoot, SP101 in .357 and .22LR both have green fiber optic sights as front sights. I like them very much but I certainly understand what the video is explaining.

The best sighting tip is to work on point and shooting. The hand is naturally connected to the eye. What I mean is if you throw your hand up with your index finger pointing at a target, you will pretty much be on target very time, without any thought. The key is to learn to point and shoot without over thinking it.

Granted, this works for most handgun shooting. Obviously something like trying to shoot 100 yd targets would be a different game.

    Same goes for the rifle.

My tip is F.O.R.S. Front opposite, Rear same.

Need to move your impact up? then you would move the rear up (same) or the front down(opposite).

Need to move your impact left? Then the rear sight move to the left, or move the front to the right.

Reflex sights. There are open ones and closed ones. Closed ones may be illuminated slightly if you'd like.

Quantrells men shot as they rode ponies, and very effectively too.
they usually broke contact after the first volley. always at a greater distance to the yankees who were armed with rifles but not in formation yet.
i dont believe they ever sighted their handguns.
i dont believe you can reliably use sights while in full gallop.
and when they were dismounted they used two revolvers at the same time.
