    I have used the egg shells and epson salts on my ghost pepper plants with great results.

    My roses love coffee grounds.

    I have also heard some "Grandma-recipes" saying that banana peels make good fertilizer, lots of potassium and takes a reasonable amount of time completely disintegrate. *unfortunately blackbirds seem to be able to smell them, even when buried, and they will dig them up...*
