Mmm yummy. We're having the baby kale salad tonight, done the Cuban way - with cranberries and pine nuts (it's the Americanized Californi-ized version).

    I kept it simple @Madison.
I browned about a pound and a half(3 links) of hot smoked sausage cut into 1/4inch slices real well until there was plenty fond on the bottom of the skillet, then drained the little grease there was.

Then some water, the peeled and small cubed turnips, a heaping tablespoon of jar roux, and some Creole seasoning and fresh cracked black pepper. Simmered them about an hour till they were tender. I used a mix of large, medium, and small turnips and they were all very sweet and not "hot" or bitter at all.

I still have a milk crate full and a few more to pick growing in the fresh dirt around the house

Tonight for dinner I opened a tin of Beef madras, a microwave pack of uncle Ben rice.
The madras takes 4 mins, the rice takes 2 mins.
washing up the plate and spoon 20 seconds.

Garbage soup. We take all the left overs that would normally end up in the garbage, put them in a plastic bag in the freezer and when the bag gets full we put it in the slow cooker and turn it into soup.
