Tacitus: Why President Trump Must Stand Firm in Wall Funding Fight

You should read this, its an excellent explanation as to just what the deal is here in the United States and how the two parties are in fact really just one, and its loyalties aren't even remotely sympathetic towards the citizens of the nation, not even remotely.... I also believe its time the FBI is erased from existence, 97% of the bureau gave its campaign contribution to the Clinton's, and the Obama's before them, and the only member of the club to resign in the face of the overwhelming evidence of an FBI/Justice department engineered coup did so in protest of the firing of the major perpetrator of the coup itself, not because he was ashamed of what they had done TO the nation. Other then that one guy(who later went to CNN as a paid consultant after his little stunt)not one current member of FBI is known to have stepped down in outraged protest....

The first responsibility of any government is to defend and to protect its own citizens.

There is no obligation, in law or common law or even by inference, for any government to defend the aspirations of people who are nationals of other countries, or to prioritize those aspirations over the aspirations of its own citizens.

From time to time governments may decide to assist foreign nationals, as the United States did in some of our foreign wars. But this is the exception, not the rule. And even these interventions did not prioritize foreign nationals over our own citizens.

President Trump is restoring common sense and sanity to a government which had lost its way. The American people never voted for open borders, for globalism, and for the surrender of their national sovereignty.

Successive administrations — both Republican and Democrat, functioning more like a UniParty than opposing parties — have gradually dismantled essential components of our national sovereignty. We know how this was done: trade deals which favored multinational corporations over U.S. citizens, shipping jobs overseas, ignoring the ever-growing illegal alien population (now estimated to be in excess of 20,000,000) which has driven down wages and expropriated entire sectors of the economy (i.e., meat packing, landscaping, etc).

In addition to these deleterious effects on the American people, U.S. citizens are being killed by illegal aliens at an alarming rate due to DUI deaths, overdose deaths from massive drug smuggling, and by outright murder.

But the crisis is larger even than these personal and community tragedies. We are losing our sovereignty. Our citizenship is being devalued, debased, and nullified. A country which cannot control its borders is no longer a country.

We must ask, what’s the use of a government which cannot protect its own people and defend its own national sovereignty?

Though no one wants to see anyone out of work or missing a paycheck, why should anyone be asked to care more for a hundred or a thousand or ten thousand government employees whose pay is delayed, than for the survival of their country?

A government that cannot deliver on its fundamental responsibility to secure its own borders and to assure its own sovereignty not only deserves to be shut down, it deserves to be dissolved.

We know what’s going on. Huge forces, populated by sometimes strange bedfellows, want the status quo to continue because it suits their purposes of profits and/or political power. These are the globalist multi-national corporations, the ethno-centric zealots of the Left, the great majority of the Democratic Party, and the Never Trump wing of the Republican Party as exemplified by Mitt Romney.

Despite perfunctory lip service, these people want open borders, ineffectual border security, mass migration, multiculturalism, multilingualism, and globalism. They truly believe that the era of the nation state is a relic of the past, and they are doing everything they can to accelerate this vision of their utopia.

But the American people never voted for this utopia and do not want it anymore than the Brits, the French, the Poles, or anyone else.

This is what the “shut down” is all about. The stakes could not be any higher — which is why the president must not and cannot surrender.

Excellent assessment of the current status of the country. Donald Trump IS restoring America to a more sensible, conservative, nation-state instead of the idiotic global strategy of the Democratic Party and major corporations. Once the flood of illegal immigration is stopped, and the criminals and drug smugglers are routinely rounded up without letup, America will again soar economically, morally and ethically.

Trump understands this. He understands money - where it is, how it is used - who holds it and power, in America, and is determined to right the wrongs of the last nine presidents, who all failed the citizenry of this country, and forfeited our Middle Class, which was the backbone of the nation, out of existence."Power tends to corrupt and absolute power tends to corrupt absolutely" culminating in the government disasters of the Clintons and Obama. and twenty-eight years of no Congressional oversite, abrogating their legal responsibilities to the Deep State bureaucrats, the unions and the Wall Street crowd.

Dismantling that power structure from such a long, long buildup over the years, as Trump is doing daily, isn't going to be accomplished overnight - but we appear to be in a position of having Mr.Trump in the Oval Office six more years. He should not abandon his base, or declare a National Emergency, over a Southern border wall. The shutdown is owned by the Democrats, they refuse to negotiate an inch, but want Trump to back down completely. Keep it closed until Pelosi and Schumer come crawling asking for redress.

The longer the shutdown continues, with citizens missing paychecks (these are the mega-level bureaucrats making double what those not in government service do), the better it will be. This is Trump's legacy, quickly here in two years. Even the media can't pin this one on Trump - not when Federal employees are not drawing paychecks. That wall is necessary, and this is another battle, like the Kavanaugh hearings that Trump can't afford to lose, and neither can America. What the Democrats and the media think, is the longer the shutdown goes on, the more pressure Trump will be under to cave - he won't, he can't......... - Stan -

Actually, no body needs read all this stuff: no boundaries, no identity. We are not "a country" if we cannot control our borders. I am not opposed to Hispanics. My experience is that many of them are more ethical than most Americans, but I want only ethical Hispanics for my neighbors -- no drug dealers and no welfare queens.

Trump has also been talking with Ted Cruz about the border, as Texas is intimately involved. This is very advantageous for Trump and the American people. Like him or not, Cruz is a constitutional scholar experienced in arguing and winning cases in the Sumpreme Court.

In the Medellin case, Cruz defended the death sentence a Texas court imposed on Mexican citizen Jose Ernesto Medellin after he was convicted in 1994 for his role in the gang rape and strangling of two teenage girls in a Houston park.
In 2004, the International Court of Justice of the United Nations ruled that Texas and other states had violated the Vienna Convention by failing to notify Medellin and 50 other Mexicans on death row of their right to contact the Mexican consulate after arrest. President George W. Bush ordered Texas and other states to review the sentences.
Cruz argued that, while the United States had submitted to the international courtís decisions, the White House could not implement an international agreement that required states to change their court procedures without action by Congress. The Supreme Court agreed in a 6-3 decision.

This story was actually trashing Cruz for causing problems with Mexico/US relations, but take it from where it's coming from. Additionally, I personally have issues with the death penalty as a whole, but as long as it's in place for American citizens in Texas, then I see no reason to exempt Mexicans.

Anyway, point being that Cruz knows constitutional law like the back of his hand and surely he's a great assist to what Trump can or cannot legally do under the constitution. I think Trump's in a pretty good position.

And if President Trump remains in office, odds are he will get at least four Supreme Court appointments over six years of his administration. One of them easily could be Senator Ted Cruz. From the circus clowns being mentioned from the leftist Democratic Party who want to oppose him - their top two are an old pedophile, Joe Biden, who his party rejected three times already, and Bernie Sanders, who the odds are, wouldn't live out one term as a President, even if he survives a grueling campaign of two years. New York Governor Cuomo will spend millions like a Jeb Bush did, and won't be able to get a vote outside his state other than New Jersey. Warren's entry (a laugher), checkmates the liberal vote in against him as does Gillibrand and Harris. The women, Warren, Harris, Gillibrand, and Hillary stand no chance - America isn't electing any woman to the office, (Hillary guaranteed that), particularly trying to go against Trump in 2020. and we certainly are not electing another Black to the position (Obama guaranteed that).

Besides, Donald Trump is perhaps the smartest politician in America. The left, whose entire narrative and structure, thundered non-stop across America for the past three years by the useless, biased media, against him, is composed totally of ideology, not policies. It hasn't touched his original 64-million base one bit, in fact, I think their lies have increased that base, nobody is listening, and once the Congressional Democrats finish two years of "investigating" him, and come up empty adding in no accomplishments, America will be disgusted with them.

What a fisherman Trump is. He throws the bait on one side of the political boat, and the Democrats and media sharks glam onto it, and on the other side, he is working away, under wraps on his real agenda. He has them running in circles like rabid dawgs. Also, Mr. Trump is always full of surprises. It wouldn't surprise me, as the Democrats push for a female 2020 candidate if he moves Vice President Mike Pence out, and Niki Haley into his place in 2020. That combination? Probably unstoppable.
