The Unanswerable Argument In Support Of The 2nd Amendment

It doesn't even have to do with stats. It doesn't have to do with how many innocent people are murdered by lunatics with guns, or, unfortunately also, how many innocents are killed or wounded in shooting accidents

It ONLY boils down to THIS ...

What RIGHT does any government have to prevent me from legally owning a firearm when that government cannot guarantee me that I will be protected, if my life is being threatened, by Law Enforcement? Obviously government and LE cannot guarantee your protection when it takes police at least a few minutes to arrive, IF you even have time to call them. So if no government can guarantee my safety, then how DARE they confiscate my ability to defend myself, and possibly my family, in a life threatening situation?

Add to this the fact that a firearm is the BEST, and really, ONLY legitimate deterrent to a perpetrator bent on harming you.

Add to this the fact that OUR government has ALREADY, and ever since our nation's inception, guaranteed us this prerogative IN WRITING.

That's exactly what the 2A says.

It's just what I say when anyone starts spouting stats about gun crimes (which are usually wrong anyway). Place it on a PERSONAL level. What do I do if MY life is threatened and I have no gun because they were banned? What do THEY do if they are in that situation and they don't have a gun?

Their only answer is to hope they are never in that situation

It is not only a constitutional right, it is a God given right that no government has the right to infringe on.

the left has the bill of rights all ass-backwards.

they think the bill of rights are rights the government bestows upon its citizens, when in fact, they are things the government is specifically told hands off, these predate your forming.

    The question is formulated incorrectly.

No government has "rights", they have power. Ultimately, if allowed, they have all the power.

What prevents them, usually, from going full socialist is what Ayn Rand labeled "the consent of the victim". Governments are loathe to exercise their "full socialist" until their victims have been brain - washed and cowed. If the BWC process is incomplete, if the control of major bodies of the legislature is insecure, if the intended victims still believe they have rights themselves and are willing to defend those rights with ballots, then the socialists find it difficult, if not impossible, to remove from their victims that necessary adjunct that protects the ballots, the bullets.

But once enough humans have been turned into sheep, once enough elections are stolen with impunity (see how the Rodents are, RIGHT NOW, busy robbing Rick Scott of his Senate seat), once the Rodents are confident that they can disarm freely, THEN they will start shutting down the entire Constitution.

    Only a matter of time.

Trump has been President for 645 days and Ruth Bader Ginzberg hasn't had the decency to die. What's up with that?

LBJ was a Democrat. I wish more Democrats could be like him. He's dead now.
