    I have to admit, I spend a lot of time in front of my television still... even though I indulge in online streaming websites. Often simultaneously I will have a computer on at the same time as my telly.

    Have a Firestick and a few subscriptions. Also have DirectTV as part of a package I already had.

    I've been impressed with the Firestick, the number of streaming apps available via it and can see it would be easy to drop the DirectTV for the most part.

    I really want to dump Direct TV and I need some solid help and advice. My computer has a thick cable hooked up to the tv so direct tv can download their data. SO, I figure I'm already hooked up. It's not a "smart tv" . I have another tv in "the living room". I have a wireless router. I'm not as tech savy about these things as most of you.

    So I'm asking you guys, what can I actually do?

    FIRE and replace the bad Republicans in their primaries, but NEVER EVER vote for a Democrat.

    Do what my wife did... Dump DirecTV like the pure junk it is (and has ALWAYS been) and start using Roku streaming over your WiFi connection.

    We've been doing that for about a year now and I don't miss cable anywhere near as much as I thought I would.

    @GreenEyedLady

    Roku over the home WiFi has been working quite well for my wife and I over the past few months.

    I haven't had much to complain about regarding this set-up (and I love complaining).

    What does DirecTV have to do with cable service?

    DirecTV is satellite TV--which is an alternative to cable--just as The Dish Network is also satellite TV.

    My TV is not "smart" (a couple years old and cost 160$) You can get and HDMI cable for 10$ and hook your computer to your TV and whatever you can pull up, plays on the TV.
    Yep, I'd wrap that in bacon! KEEP AMERICA GREAT, TRUMP 2020

    I prefer Direct TV to cable or Dish Network. I've had decent service with Direct TV. I switch to it a few years ago after getting sick of Dish Network cancelling the channels that I like to watch.
    It takes a FAMILY to raise a child--Not Hitlery Klinton's Socialist, Anti-Family, Nanny-State...I mean, "Village".

    Islam is a religion of violence and terror as practiced by the Islamofascists. The Muslims that do speak out against terror are then terrorized by the Islamofascists and are ignored by the Lap Dog Media.

    You can watch OAN on channel 347. That's the best news channel.
