@Conservative Libertarian, did you download Duckduckgo? If so, that's your prob.
I've only had two beers in dog years.

    It might be the OS.

I've used FF on Windoze Ate; on OS Ecch; and with Ubuntu 14 and 16.

Issues occurred, time-to-time, with Windoze or with the Fruit, that didn't occur with Ubuntu.

Ubuntu FF is not stable - crashes all the time. Never with OS Ecch. Much as I hate the Fruit Company, they have a more-stable OS. You can't search external hard-drives or flash drives; everything you put on them, winds up in the "Cloud" (and Timmy Cook's lieutenant's files, for laughs or worse)...but it seldom crashed. And never Firefox on OSX.

Been years since I used FF with Windoze - I keep the Windoze machine around to do a few clerical tasks I can't do with the others. Like run an Epsom scanner. Otherwise...hard to say. Been dozens of upgrades since I took Ate online.

    But, the system does matter.

I don't know if I actually downloaded it however, I did set it as my default browser. I did change the default back to commie google and the problem still persists. I saw nothing in my apps list for duckduckgo so that it could be uninstalled.

You may be onto something. This occurred not long after I change to it as the default browser.

    It didn't fix it.

Interesting observation: after clearing cache and cookies the initial page came up looking normal awaiting ne to enter log in info. As soon as I logged in, it went to the unwieldy list of links described earlier.

The problem still persists. It is unique to this site and this site only.

I'm using IE for this site only.

I believe the problem between the DDG app - not the search site itself, but some app that controlled how it was used by the browser - and TPF was with the Chrome browser rather than FF. I had that problem and when I set DDG to the default search engine using Chrome itself the problem went away.

If you're willing to change to a different browser look into Waterfox or Vivaldi. Waterfox is a 64-bit-only branch off from FF, but still a Mozilla project. Easy download, and your FF bookmarks will transfer over, if I remember correctly. I want to avoid IE, Google and Mozilla to the extent practical, so I've been using Vivaldi. It has some minor quirks with vBulletin sites (I have to do italic, bold, etc. and quote tags manually) but otherwise works fine.

Most of the time these issues are with the user, not us. Typically they need to clear cache (cookies, defrag, disc cleanup; whatever terminology you're familiar with).

You can also run spyware and malware programs such as Malware Bytes and SuperAntiSpyWare. These can be found under their own websites or though CNET.

Also, our tech staff, Matt and MrMike are reachable by PM and will help if they can, time permitting.

I see these same issues on the other sites I visit from people running WIN 10. Here is what IMO, is happening with WIN 10 users. I tried to run FF and Chrome on my HP tower PC that is 6 years old now with its "free" WIN 10 upgrade and it did not like it at all.
I am not computer savvy whatsoever, so I always start with the simplest things when I run in to PC issues.

I think WIN 10 has designed their OS to run the best with its EDGE browser, anything else used may toss a wrench in their WIN 10 spokes. And I found out the high tech PC people giving out advice about how to "get around" the WIN 10 features they do not like...does not always work out too well for them when they try to do so .

So I finally gave in to WIN 10 and did some things on our PC, and my internet experience using ANY sites are so easy now. I have NO problems navigating any sites, on line shopping, posting pics or attachments, C/C/P, running videos, get no popups, no ads, no malware or ransomware hitting my PC like I used to have. Here is what I did and FWIW..

    1. I made WIN 10 EDGE my browser. It IS fast, and user friendly.
    2. De-activated the default WIN 10 Defender security and installed a purchased top name, reputable AV software.
    3. Set my settings to where my browsing history, passwords, cookies, etc. ALL are deleted whenever I close Edge or reboot.
    4. Every morning when I touch a key and my PC awakens from its "sleep" I hit "restart". About one minute used to reboot.
    5. Installed the free spooky face ad stopper.
    6. And against my own grumblings, I left my settings to where WIN 10 can do its aggravating, forced "updates". As I feel MS is slowly doing away with the upgrades to the old MS - OS now, and there is no going back to them. So if one likes to run a windows based OS, they had best get on the WIN 10 wagon. As IMO, WIN 10 is the foundation of every future upgrade or new MS- OS coming in the future.

And right now unless it changes for the worse, I like WIN 10 better than I did our MS WIN 3, 95,97,98, 2000, XP,Vista, or 7. My only gripe right now is their access to my Photo Gallery with its 8K photos in it. But I finally accepted this glitch too, because PG has a good editing, filing, slideshow, photos downloading capabilities from cameras or Android phones software, etc.

Disclaimer : All the above info has worked out well for me, but others doing so may get varying results.

I had to bring up the page on IE to be able to post this.

Firefox did push an update on 9/8/2018. However, I had visited this site after that. This started yesterday morning.
I had to do this a month or so ago. Same issue. I only can look at TPF on IE anymore.

I don't know what OS Conservative Libertarian uses, but I've been using Win10 for well over a year and get updates automatically. I tried Edge, since it was pre-installed (HP computer), and it clearly was not mature or stable enough for use (and again about a year later and it still was not as stable as other browsers). I used Chrome for a while with zero problems, here or on other vBulletin forums (or other forum SW). The DDG issue I described above was on another computer that runs Win7. I used Waterfox for a while with zero problems on any forum SW. I've been using Vivaldi for several months, and again, zero problems. Whatever its faults and strengths, I do not think Win10 plays games with non-Edge browsers.
