We were told to wash our penis with warm soapy water after making "friends" with the local girls.

I wanted to get a tat of that fateful night for me. You know, a tat of me hunched over a garbage can upchucking Ouzo .

Nope, that is a big fat lie, I wanted NOTHING to do with Ouzo after that night.

One of my favorite authors of the time was Kazantzakis. Don't remember which book, maybe Zorba. But ouzo was mentioned several times. At any rate there was this bar in Curtiss Bay MD. Nasty place, no tables or chairs. That way you couldn't smash or beat anyone or anything. Sooo I tried it. It must have been around St Patricks as green stuff came out of every orifice for several days. The EMO (Electronics Material Officer) took me aside and said "I think you have a problem with alcohol, this is what you do, pick the ugliest woman in the bar, when she starts to look good, come back to the boat" . Took another 18 yrs before I discovered the problem wasn't ouzo, scotch, gin etc, it was me.

Wait a minute....y'all had the same penis? ;-)

Sailors on liberty acting up? Unthinkable!

Jacksonville Beach Police Department confirmed arrests had been made, and a local jail said it was holding sailors on Friday afternoon.

Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage last night said: ‘This is an unfortunate incident and not the standard of behaviour we expect from our RN sailors.’

Unsuspecting bar owners had not been warned the ship was coming to dock at Mayport, it is understood.

Do these guys know how to party or what? There is the making for some epic sea stories, here. And Nigel, learn to spell

    “behavior.”

Anyone who has spent time over here in the UK will acknowledge that those sailors behaving badly is a normal thing, the resisting arrest part is a bit naughty as your police have guns.

As you all know I’ve sailed the high seas for quite some time, I have visited some exotic ports and I’ve sampled the delights of the native women. What the golden rule for seamen is; “Never go drinking alone once you have left the ship”
    That is rule no1
Always go ashore with your mates, the more the merrier. On one trip I recall a shipmate being mugged just yards from the ships walkway ramp.
rule no2 Never leave a drinking buddy ashore.
