    Companies Recruiting High School Students

    https://money.cnn.com/2018/07/10/news/companies/ibm-tech-schools/index.html

Since 2011, more than 400 companies have partnered with 79 public high schools across the country to offer a six-year program called P-Tech. Students can enroll for grades 9 to 14 and earn both a high school and an associate's degree in a science, tech, engineering or math related field.

I know this won't fly with people like Bob. These kids are willing to work for something and not have it handed to them.

The past renews itself as the wave of the future.

Companies investing in American labor is the wave of the future.

Have no fear. Bob will soon be there to kill their opportunities and try to unionize them and insist that these kids are more valuable to the union, blood leeches.

mike rowe, best known for the hit show "dirty jobs" started a scholarship for those seeking educating/training in all aspects of the construction industry..as a requirement to receive the free scholarship the applicants have to sign and agree to a "s.w.e.a.t." pledge.

he cant find enough applicants willing to agree so much of the money offered goes unused..

that should tell us all something...

A six year program.....for an associates degree. I'll pass.

Go to high school - take college classes in the summer if allowed ; they do in my area. Graduate high school, go to college and get a bachelors. Enlist in the Military. Get out of the Military, further your degree...paid by Uncle Sugar ; OR be ready for the job market.

    Joe :
It's basically 2 years for an associates.....after high school. Years 1-4 are in high school. Not a bad deal.

I started college with high school students. They were getting their psych , sociology, math 101 & 102 ; English 101 & 102 out of the way. Graduate high school , basic classes are over with ---- bachelors in three years with the basic classes finished. Their fellow students were enjoying the summer, at the pool, cruising the Blvd, drinking beer in an open hay field. These students were at college, or home studying, at the library writing research
    papers during summer break.

College done in three years, job market at 21 or 22 years old. Accounting, engineering, nursing, teaching. making good money by 23 or 24.

Some students thought life out, while the others just let it go by and take it for granted.
