Securing the US/Mexico Border is a Monumental Task

How many of us have actually seen the border? When I was stationed in Texas many years ago, I frequently visited border towns. I'm sure a lot has change since then. I've recently crossed the border in California so have seen what's there. But, much of the rest is a big blank.

Along the Rio Grande River in Texas

My husband and I crossed into Mexico at the Nogales Arizona border.

Only spent a couple of hours, it's a huge turn off, when vendors call you foul names in Spanish, if you don't buy something from them.... I have no desire to ever cross ANY U.S /Mexico border, again.

Yes, it is a monumental task, but, if anyone can do it, we can.

I must always come back to the same argument. Remove the financial incentive and they'll stop coming! Stop giving them social benefits and go after those who employ them.

    So simple.

I worked in Mexico, and rented a home in McAllen. We crossed the border a lot. We saw a lot of improvements being made around McAllen, but west of town, it was still pretty much wide open. Lloyd Bentsen Wildlife Preserve is a wide open crossing point, as is Quinta Mazatlan and Santa Ana. They are all beautiful, and illegal immigration makes them tough to be in without harassment by BP. We saw illegals crossing, running thru fields, etc. It's rampant and BP can't be everywhere. The fence and wall has to be robust. All that was 2003-2010 time frame. Lake Falcon was wide open too.
