Cool C$10K to Bury a Whale

Isn't as easy as it seems and costs a lot to do. Kinda tough for a town of 1,800 on the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. Seems they're going to talk with other towns to come up with a plan if it happens again. 40 tonnes of stinky flesh and lots of lime to ensure it goes away.

    About fifty sacks of lime.

That's it. Tell the locals to take a vacation; and in two weeks the worst of it will be gone.

Alternately, tow it out to sea, with some heavy trash; and weigh it down.

I'll be darned! It seems that there is a reason to be glad that Rosie O'Donnell is still alive. Who would have thunk it.

Tow it to San Francisco. They'll never notice the smell.

I guess they didn't want to sell it to the dog food people?

Probably burying a pair of old boots would cost the government 10k dollars (Canadian).

There's always this method for dispersing a dead whale.

In the US the environmental impact statement would take six months and cost ten million dollars, and there'd be an injunction against moving the whale until the paperwork was approved.

Deer hit by cars, can no longer be buried by state crews. Federal and state laws about dumps and disposal of organic animal waste.

In Ohoho, some years back, there were problems: On many Interstates, there were wide medians with trees and growth; and state crews took to dragging carcasses behind tree cover. Get them off the road and out of sight, if not out of smell.

But carrion and scavangers would be drawn; and you'd have MORE wildlife prancing across the Interstates, and sometimes getting hit.

    Government.
