Israeli F-35’s operate over Iran undetected

The Jerusalem Post reports two Israeli Air Force (IAF) F-35 Adir fighter jets entered Iranian airspace undetected, according to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida.

“Two Israeli F-35 fighter jets entered Iranian airspace over the past month, Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida reported on Thursday. The act is a signal of heightened regional tensions, especially in light of recent Israeli military attacks in Syria, including against Iranian bases in the country. Sources quoted in Al-Jarida stated that two stealth fighters flew over Syrian and Iraqi airspace to reach Iran, and even targeted locations in the Iranian cities Bandar Abbas, Esfahan and Shiraz.”

The report further states that the two fighter jets, among the most advanced in the world, circled at high altitude above Persian Gulf sites suspected of being linked with the Iranian nuclear program. It also states that the two jets were undetected by radar, including by the advanced Russian radar system located in Syria.

A not-so-subtle warning to the Mad Mullahs and their vision of an Iran led Middle East. I believe the message was received, and opened a few (Russian) eyes too.

Kuwait is Sunni; they are part of the alliance against Iran, and the intelligence agencies would have no problem releasing the info there first, as reassurances to the Kuwaitis. They mean to send a warning.or nobody would know. Personally I wouldn't have made it known, but maybe Israeli or Kuwaiti intel alerted them to some Iranian scheme or other and sending a message like this deterred something bad enough they thought it worth putting the vermin on notice. If the scumbags were directing something against Kuwait then their media would be the natural choice to release it through.

Apparently the Russian S-400 air defense system is not as air-tight as Putin would have us believe. Or at least the systems they gave to their stooges.

    More on this story:

This Iranian Commander Kept Secret That Israeli F-35 Stealth Fighters Had Violated Iran Airspace

Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) commander Brigadier General Farzad Ismaili, who had been in office since 2010, has been fired by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei after he kept secret that Israeli Air Force (IAF) F-35 stealth fighters had violated Iran’s airspace, the Kuwaiti daily Al Jarida reported on Saturday.

The newspaper emphasized that it was the original media source that exposed the Israeli raids, which had taken place in March 2018. Al Jarida cited senior Iranian military who said that only following its March report did the intelligence services of the Revolutionary Guards and the Iranian intelligence ministry begin to investigate the case, under Khamenei’s direct orders.

According to the newspaper’s investigation, “the IAF F-35 “Adir” planes penetrated Iran’s airspace, circled high above Tehran, Karajrak, Isfahan, Shiraz and Bandar Abbas – and photographed Iran’s air defense system.”

One of the sources reported that Iran’s air defense system, including its Russian radar, did not detect the entry and exit of the fighter planes, and that Ismaili hid this information from the supreme leader to cover his service failure. However Iranian intelligence discovered that the Israeli fighter jets had carried out this sortie as a test of the possibility of an undetected attack on Iranian outposts and bases, during which they photographed those sensitive bases, evading the Russian S-300 missile system’s radar.

According to Al Jarida, Iranian intelligence received top secret information that the Israeli fighter planes even managed to photograph Iran’s underground bases. Khamenei, who received this information, now suspects a cooperation between Russia and Israel, and that the Russians gave Israel the secret code of the Russian radar in Iran – according to the Kuwaiti newspaper.
Khamenei's suspicion notwithstanding, I doubt Russia would give a nation it has hated since 1948 a pass-key to one of its front-line SAM systems that it also sells on the export market. So the F-35's degree of stealth is significant (nothing is invisible, just difficult to recognize, track, and lock onto; Iran's S-300s didn't even recognize the F-35s).

While parts of an air defense system are mobile or easily moved, much - the more sophisticated parts, probably - is not. So what Israel learned will be significant for months or possibly even years to come.

Israel is almost certain to have given the the US what it learned. Iran certainly has to assume that. And Iran has to include that fact in its actions, without really knowing exactly how much Israel and the US know.

BTW, I did not remember this thread, I just used TPF's Search window, "Jarida", and found this thread in the results.
