Too lazy to prepare a meal.
Just take the easy way out and fry the bacon.
    Speaks volumes.

    Taste is subjective.
    But you knew that already.

What really makes you happy?... Wait, i know! Nothing!

Hmmmmm. Pallet = Palate. A pallet is a platform for moving cargo. Well, maybe your intent to use that word was appropriate after all......lol

The most inedible of things are rendered a superb delicacy when wrapped in bacon!
Yep, I'd wrap that in bacon!

Well I showed my wife the video. She thought that they looked wonderful. She actually raved about how good they looked. Then she dropped the bomb by saying they are kind of involved & it looks like they will take a long time to make. I've learned to speak some "wife" over the years. Translated that means "I wouldn't even make those for you on your deathbed if they were your last wish". So much like those 16 year old girls did in my youth, you just teased me by showing me that video. (wink)

Well i tried them. They were indeed involved and i became frustrated.

First, you need some really big onions and only use the first 4 rings. Chop the rest of the onion for your freezer.
I had smaller onions and it was difficult to feed the bacon through the hole with each wrap.

So , i prepared them like in the video but just filled the hole up with ground beef and wrapped the whole thing in bacon.

They were very good but i had to season the ground beef with more salt and pepper than he recommended.

Hawk I love onion rings. We have a local BBQ place that we were told that we had to go there & have onion rings. The person telling us that said have "the hill" & smiled. WTH? So we went in & saw that they had 2 sizes of onion rings, the hill & the mountain. We were tempted to go for the bigger one because we both love onion rings. But we followed the advise & ordered the hill. The hill came & picture a normal plate full & heaping of just onion rings. We almost died trying to eat them all. But we did see a mountain delivered to a table with 4 people. Picture a platter that you put a whole turkey on filled & the center is piled high between 4 & 5 inches. I doubt that any of the 4 people survived. Plus they are great but a little greasy.

The wife is hinting to go back there but I think it would be a waste. I just can't hold anything else beside the onion rings.

For tender rings , soak them in water or milk for 24 hours before cooking.
