OK, this is a stupid category, because, I confess, tomorrow I could very well give another answer.
Criteria is: THE song that sums up all that is best in rock from Bill Haley and the Comets to the last Mastodon album. Its quintessence, its triply-distilled tincture. NOT necessarily your personal favourite. The song you would put on the Voyager Golden Record for aliens to get a good sense of this music.
Here is my selection. This sums up the exuberant, kinetic violence and visceral, swaggering rebelliousness of all the rock that came before it, and all that came after, acting like a fulcrum in rock's history. It is the very first perfectly realized punk rock song almost three years before that genre actually burst upon the scene and was named, and has been nearly as big an influence on 80s metal as it has been on punk. If there's anything I can call 'My song', THIS has to be it.
It is...from 1973...

This should be the theme of the coming revolt! Be it peaceful or war!

So many.
First off: Floyd, Comfortably Numb.

Next: AC/DC, Thunderstruck. Live anything by them is pure energy rock. Personally, I like the below mix (of the apaches) as well as the live.

I suppose I could try to guess who is who of the who, unfortunately the twerking video has made my brain uncomfortably numb.

Can't pick a favorite even if I tried, so I'm just posting the first two that entered my brain. If I had posted this 5 minutes ago, it probably would have been 2 different ones.
