I see tons of stuff on Youtube. Many of the videos are from things recorded from TV, then somehow edited and put on Youtube. I don't understand how people do that.

I have searched the internet and am not finding how to do it.

I have a MacBook Pro that should be capable of working with videos IF I can get one loaded.

Software, time and practice.

What you need is a capture device (camera was used here):

HD camera/camcorder
Video capture: https://www.google.com/search?q=video+capture+device+MAC&rlz=1C1CHMO_enUS549US549&oq=video+capture+device+MAC&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.8525j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#es_sm=93&espv=210&q=video+capture+device+MAC&tbm=shop
TV card: https://www.google.com/search?q=video+capture+device+MAC&rlz=1C1CHMO_enUS549US549&oq=video+capture+device+MAC&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.8525j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#es_sm=93&espv=210&q=TV+usb+MAC&tbm=shop

And appropriate software.

You can also work with youtube videos and flash (flv) videos if you have the proper software but I believe Apple and Adobe (flash owners) have big issues.
