Well it is official. The folks who are posting the real truth about unemployment in America also have discovered that we are revisiting the Carter Malaise.

http://washington.cbslocal.com/2013/01/22/gallup-american-optimism-hits-lowest-point-since-carter-administration/

Fewer than four-in-10 Americans (39 percent) rate the US in a positive manner the most negative feedback the country has produced since 1979.

Now I rarely quote Rush Limbaugh as I think for the most part he is a bloviator. But I think he's summed up the Obama administration and what it is all about very succinctly here.

We are going backwards in this country. We are separating people by class. We are separating people by race. We are not encouraging people to do better. We are not inspiring people to be the best they can be. We are essentially acknowledging that people are not very good and don't have much hope. Well, not "we." The Obama people are thriving by telling their voters who they ought to hate, who they ought to oppose, who they ought to try to eliminate, wipe out, in a political sense, and it's all based on race or other forms of ethnicity.

Maine. Do you ever listen to Rush? I mean REALLY listen? he does NOT bloviate. What he says makes perfect sense. And that reminds me...did you hear what mike malloy said about Rush a day or so ago? Said that rush wanted to use children as sex objects?

Rush loves himself a bit too much for me. However, from time to time he hits one out of the park and that quote is one of those times.

of course i don't agree. I don't think he LOVES himself to any greater degree than we love our ownselves. He is humble. And he makes his customers happy. He is rich but he is one of the lucky ones who loves what he does and other people love him doing it. If you listen to him enough, what occasionally sounds like arrogance is what he is doing to annoy libs listening to him.

I can remember when comparing President Obama and President Carter was an insult to President Obama. Now, it's an insult to President Carter.

We have a Keynesian system where the Treasury and Fed work together to do harm to the country. Yes, I think Obama is an asshole, but this is not his doing. This is solely and completely the product of a Keynesian "manufactured" housing bubble that was then "burst" by the Fed on purpose at a time when individuals and businesses (not under the protective aegis like Goldman or BOFA) were extended on purpose.

They meant to kill the economy because a few people and corporations that have always been chosen to get ahead needed to grab up the dying and flailing and increase the size of their holdings.

Keynesians are worse than Marxists, I swear.

Right, but there is danger inherent in the Federal Reserve system. They have more control over our economy than Congress.

I don't think the Carter Malaise has set in yet. Which is your most pressing concern, Mainecoons? The unemployment or the potential race/class/ideology warfare that it seems Obama is encouraging.

As far as unemployment is concerned, obama doesn't recognize it, neither do pollsters, media, political elites, or obama supporters. The last might notice it when they begin starving but even then it is going to be the republicans' fault.

Civil insurrection, or what do you call attacks by one ideolgical group against their opposition? Whatever you call it, it's on the horizon but it won't be their fault. We will have driven them to it a la Tingles Matthews.

Obama is a puppet. When you criticize him, realize that you're wasting time, because he doesn't really make decisions for himself.

He didn't create the housing bubble, he didn't control interest rates, he didn't make the decision to bail out these criminally negligent "too big to fails"...he didn't do dick. All he does is act as the face in front of the actual smart guys making all the decisions.

Extra-terrestrials?

Rina: "All he does is act as the face in front of the actual smart guys making all the decisions."

Housing bubble. Presidents Carter and President Clinton with their Community Reinvestment fraud and Rep. Frank, with his spouse working for Fannie Mae and Sen. Dodd with his crooked CountryWide deals are "smart guys", Rina? Making pitiful nitwits, like my cousin, think he was personally going to pay off their mortgage is all President Obama was doing. Bailing out banks gave President Obama power over the banks for a short time and that fed his narcissism and it put money in his pocket. Bailing out GM gave him a chance to screw the evil bondholders and pay off the unions. I know people want to let him off the hook but they shouldn't. They seem to think, "Poor thing, he's doing the best he can." No, he isn't.

They are wickedly smart, Patrick. Why is BOFA so big now? Why Wells Fargo? Why Chase? Because they swooped up the other banks who were failing and going bankrupt and were not quite "too big to fail". Look at the shareholders, look at who they line the pockets of.

Listen to Obama on the fly try to articulate himself. He's not setting the world on fire in terms of intelligence, sorry.

I own a few shares in a small privately owned bank. I suffered, and am still suffering, through the orchestrated attacks on banks by the liberal government. First, my bank got out of the credit card business because they were under attack for not giving credit cards to people who have no intention of paying their bills. Then, they were under attack for not giving mortgages to deadbeats with neither the ability nor the intention of paying. When my bank told the feds that they were a small bank and did not have a large customer base of deadbeats, the federal government suggested they send representatives to liberal strongholds to give mortgages to people on welfare.

So, why are banks like Wells Fargo so big. Because the small banks are being driven out of business by the government. The socialists don't like banks, do they, Rina.

I think the criminals in government as as brilliant as Al Capone. That is, they learned the power of brutal force. They don't know anything else. They really are dumb bullies who are criminals.
